£5 back shopping at local shops with AMEX

Attempted 5 times so far this month, success with 4 (central London and Berkshire). Spent between £5 - £9 at each. Nectar Amex owned. My one failure was an Italian deli in Soho who said they don't take Amex. I informed Amex, who said all retaliers on their map are taken directly from their live database of registered merchants - they will be investigating further.

Overall, it's been a great promotion for me so far - £25 worth of goods has cost me a fiver. I shall be exploring London for a free lunch in a couple of hours time. Even the map has got (slightly) better since last week ;-)

Noodle Noodle in Victoria accept Amex and I've already had the cashback confirmed after my Singapore Noodles in there this lunchtime. 50p charge if less than £10 on Amex

I could not find anywhere north of Bradford that is participating in the offer.

If you change your location to Bradford (above the map, right), you will see that there are several locations there.


I have just wondered around my work in Paddington, visited 3 shops (muffins, wine shop and tourist shop - bought a mug there:) ), and also found 4 places where im going to have my lunch next week.

Really liking this promotion!

I wonder if anyone has any advice for me? I have an avios amex card and have used it twice this week after registering. Neither transaction has resulted in either an email msg or a credit. I have rung up Avios and say it is not part of the promotion, I have rung up the general Amex number and they say I have to talk to Avios. No one seems to be able to help me. Do you have to have the Foursquare app? One of the shops i shopped in was m & s which is hardly small but is on the map. Is there any email or number I can ring to get this clarified as I don't want to visit these shops to receive nothing (even though I am making reasonable purchases there of £10 plus) Thanks in advance

If it worked you'll get an instant email notification, within minutes of the transaction. Just use the map on the website to find merchants (link is on this thread). You defintely don't need an app.

I actually am looking for anything in Scotland but there does not seem to be any outlets participating up here.

Yup, found Newcastle but that is about as close as it gets.

Im using Avios Amex, and I got 5 emails after 6 purchases from the shops, that had the stickers.
So maybe you were unlucky, and got two that didnt participate for some reason?

And i think one post before said that they got 5 pounds credited without getting an email, so you can wait, or try another shop.


P.S. Make sure that you have properly registered the card before.
