  • Anyone know what kind of RAM this takes and how much it would cost to put another gig in?

The price is still good even if you chuck the motherboard on ebay and get a new one.

I can't be sure, but I'd imagine it had some 1x PCI-E slots too. Lots more add-ons are starting to appear on this as well as PCI.

Presumably this is a real graphics card sitting in a PCI-E slot, rather than shared graphics, because this machine only has one spare PCI slot?
Since it has no built-in wireless you will not be able to install both a PCI TV card and a PCI wireless network card in the same box, but with 6 USB slots this shouldn't be too bad.
Overall this is a fantastic price if it is in a decent condition when you get it - add a 17" monitor for about £100 and you have a pretty good starter machine.

EDIT: By the way this same PC is on sale at Currys website with a 19" TFT monitor for £649.99, which values this base unit somewhere in the region of about £450-£500.

PACKARD BELL IMEDI2569 RECONDITIONED INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6300 PROCESSOR @ 264.99.....does any one recomend this??
I heard about Vista been a bit problematic sometimes.
  • Vista does still have a few problems, especially with graphics drivers. I was running Vista but have now setup a dual boot with XP for gaming as Vista was giving alot of memoy errors.

For general use and web browsing Vista has been fine.
