Text back driver and he says he will deliver tommorow after 1pm.
Strange thing also, my balance went down on Sunday after they took payment, but now has gone back up, but the payment is shown as taken off on my mini statement, weird.0 -
can someone help please? i bought the dell 5150 (found on the grabbit forum last year). I want to know which computer is better.
The 5150 has:
Intel® Pentium® D Processor 820 DualCore (2.8Ghz,800MHz fsb, 2x1MB cache)
and
1024MB DUal channel DDR2 400MHz (2x512) Memory
how do these specs compare to this machine?0 -
Meh Vista sucks, I cant use my Kerio firewall and have to use Windows Firewall, I cant do AV scan even in Administator mode, or use Diskeeper, SPYBOT etc as the files cant be accessed!
EDIT : Hmm after a few hours mucking around, its running fast. still cant access certain files though, even with admin account, and shame so little software is compatable.
Tommorow is the big trial with my Final Fantasy 12 game and Broken Sword 4!0 -
PC is now showing a price of £279 and temporarily out of stock. http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1977537417.1177580011@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccladdkkdghhdjcflgceggdhhmdgmi.0&category_oid=-28485&sku=083559&page=Product&fm=17&sm=0&tm=undefined
So expect a few more to appear at a slightly higher price, before disappearing again.0 -
Just got mine today.
When I plug a USB2 device in, I get a message saying "This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a high speed USB 2 port" it then invites me to scan the available ports and tells me "There are no HIGH-SPEED USB host controllers installed on this computer"
Surely it must have USB2 ports ?
Also, the I was expecting a mouse and keyboard, since they were shown on the sales photo. I got the the compter and nothing else, no mains cable, no manual, no disks, absolutely nothing, is this usual ?
Hey Seilbahn,
I had exactly the same problem, and asked anyone on this forum for help, but no luck. I did manage solve the mystery by finding out from the motherboard specs that there should indeed be 6 Hi Speed USB2 ports so I investigated the bios and found they were not enabled by default! So all you have to do is go into the bios on boot up and enable the Hi Speed USB port option. Easy when you know how eh?!!
Hope this helps everybody who got one as i can't believe it's ony the 2 of us that got the ports disabled!0 -
Shiny Shiny gadgets...you can smell the brand new box & new polystyrene bags wrapping round all those brand new bits & bobs when you open the box. Mesmerising in heaven. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl::male: veedubjai :A0

I've not had a problem with incompatible software yet.. Make sure you've turned on administrator support for the program as well as running in an admin account. I'm actually really liking vista and I thought I'd hate it. I certainly hated windows XP at first!0

I am afraid about Vista, I hava received the PC now and don't know if it's really worth because of Vista.
i normally use free software only (AVG, Zone Alarm, Ad-aware) does anyone knows if this are compatible?

Zone Alarm is pretty redundant with the built in Vista firewall, as is Ad-aware. Vista versions will be available for all three pieces of software you list. Google is your friend.0
