why oh why are you people who are working for this company spamming the board? It smacks of desperation and leaves a bad taste in my mouth...
you have some great reports on here and some bad ones just like other agencies...
please leave this place for real feedback and not spam..
I think your a breath of fresh air to the market but spamming really does my head in and you as a company have gone down in my estimation because of your need to do it.It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Apparently the photos of my property taken by HN (see my other thread) are poor based on the majority of forum users. Not sure what else to add at the moment.0

Hi..I first posted on this thread in 2007: since then we have sold another property via House Network. We recently viewed a property on with HN...lovely home but someone pipped us to the sale. Accurate representation/detail on the website: the vendor had sold several properties over the years via traditional agents but gave HN a punt and was quids in as a result.

I agree. I used HN to sell my property and did various posts at the time about it.
I was quite happy with the service but the spamming here is really turning me off of them - which is a shame.0 -

I tried to sell my parents house with HN - I did have to upload some of my own photos to replace what was taken and certainly remove some that I really didnt think were selling points!0 -
My experience so far is that they will do exactly what they say. They are fast, efficient and we’re very pleased with the speed and quality of service to date. Their links to all the major property sites work very well, and they send regular reports and chase up viewings for feedback. We’ve only had one viewing so far, and the real proof will be when the house sells, but we are pleased we went with them and would recommend to our friends. This discount code ZAHEFCOWOQ should give you 5% off their fees. I don’t think it has an expiry.0

Having just posted the above, I read back over older posts. I just wanted to say that I am NOT an employee of House Network.0

I've read with interest the response that people posting discount codes have got on this forum. I myself have posted the review below on a couple of review sites. I thought I'd try to set the record straight so to speak.
We did sell our house through House Network, and we've been very pleased with them. It's not for everyone - you need to be comfortable showing your own home & dealing with things online - but for me, taking more control was a good thing.
I certainly do not work for and am not associated in any way with House Network. Past clients are encouraged to spread the word and attract new customers by being giving a unique discount code. It's basically an affiliate scheme as if anyone signs up with your code you get a small kick back. For me, I am more than happy to include this in my review as I am genuinely pleased with House Network - and would have reviewed them regardless. I have also tried to make sure I'm as honest as possible in my review - let's face it an online agent with no-one to show viewers around your home is not for everyone. However, I would have thought that on Money Saving Expert in particular, readers would be interested in anything that can save them money combined with a genuine review?
It's a pretty clever marketing scheme by House Network really to try to grow their business. I phoned them and spoke to someone before making my final decision - and I'd recommend anyone else to do the same. They were helpful, professional - and not at all pushy. Personally, I think they could teach some of the local agents we came across a thing or two...
Anyway, just trying to make a positive contribution - make of it what you will.

"Excellent value for money, highly recommended”

We used House Network to sell our 2 bed Victorian terrace. They are basically the same as any other estate agent, except they are based totally online and don't do viewings, you show viewers around yourself.
We put the house on the market in early May 2011, and accepted an offer at the end of July. We had around 16 viewings in all, a huge amount of interest for the house - even in a falling market. Despite the viewings, offers were thin on the ground as property prices had started to fall, and so we decided to be realistic within a very poor market and drop our asking price down slightly. This had the desired effect and we got our offer, allowing us to move on (as the houses we were looking to buy had also dropped in price slightly).
House Network offers amazing value for money - why pay thousands more than you need to just to use a local estate agent? They tell you that they have local knowledge and will advertise in your local newspaper, which House Network do not - but in reality, everyone looks online when they are searching for a property these days. House Network are on every major online property porthole you can think of - you will get the exposure you need, despite what local agents tell you. We saved ourselves between £2500 - £3000 (depending on what local agent we'd picked). House Network took excellent photographs of our house (loads of them too!), did a great floor plan - virtual tour - and all included in a pretty cheap basic package.
I liked the control that an online system such as House Network gives. I was able to add additional images if I wanted to, change the image order, tweak (or even totally write) the description used. For me, this was a huge plus. I also had Rightmove stats sent to me and so could tell how popular my property was. This system would not suit everyone, but if you are used to doing things online then this is for you.
I was a little nervous about showing people around at first, but in the end we found doing our own viewings was a good thing. People love to meet the owner, as they know that their questions can be answered quickly and accurately.
House Network are brilliant for being super efficient with admin too, the viewing booking process is great and they are very good at following up viewings to get feedback.
Overall, I thought House Network offered fantastic value for money and would highly recommend them. If you are willing to be a bit more involved in your house sale (input for promotional material, do your own viewings) then the rewards are well worth it.
If you want to give them a go you can use this discount code to get 5% off OBGSQLAVCR. It should work on top of any special offer they have on the website - did for us.0 -
I've thought of a crucial question.
You try to sell privately or through say HouseNetwork.
You get an offer.
How do you check and confirm your protential purchaser has the funds to complete so you're not defrauded/messed about?
What do EAs do to confirm this to themselves?
I don't think Solicitors would be involved in this process til it's much later.0
