How long ago would that be?
Any recent sales (say in 2009/10) by any others?
Yep, me. I sold via HN in December 2009, and I have nothing but praise for the service I received. Admittedly I was selling a flat in a relatively 'stable' area of London, and I marketed it at a very fair price, so I never really had any concerns that I might struggle to sell it.
I had 5 viewers, one of which was a no-show and HN updated the vendor section of my site with comments showing that they'd attempted to contact the viewer on a couple of occasions but with no luck. For the other 3, they updated with comments as to why they weren't going to put in an offer (2 of which were along the lines of 'very nice, but not in a position to proceed at the moment'), and the 5th viewer offered. After a bit of negotiation (which was handled by HN), we agreed on a price and the flat was officially Sold STC 9 days after hitting Rightmove.
All in all, I was very impressed with HN. You do take your chances to a certain degree as there's no high street presence and no local estate agent pushing your details onto prospective buyers, but for me and my circumstances, HN were the right choice.Lead me not into temptation - I can find it perfectly well all by myself0 -

I can’t see the benefit of an agent trying to ‘push’ details onto prospective buyers. Even if they succeeded in persuading a viewer to offer, they’d have all the time in the world to back out which would be a complete waste of everyone’s time."I don’t understand your statement: getting feedback from our prospective "viewers". If they’re ‘prospective’ how can there be feedback?"
The prospective viewers are the 5 cancellations. Feedback on why they cancelled?
We’ve only had two cancel, one within about 20mins of booking (finger Vs brain for sure) and the other booked ten whole days ahead and cancelled about a week later. My guess is they fine-tuned their shortlist and cut mine out. Fair enough, as no time wasted either side.
Far better a cancellation than a no-show though…0 -

I hope there’s someone who can help with this!
I hope to be able to help with this shortly. We are using them for our sale: so far, so good - quick and efficient - but I don't want to tempt fate by going into details yet. I will add more if and when the sale is complete.

So how is HN's conveyancing, WB? We're thinking of going with HN for selling our flat, and toying with the idea of using their conveyancing service to save the hassle (both for selling and future buying), but not sure if it's wise decision... Please enlighten us!Thanks

As I mentioned above we were very happy with them. We used them to buy our new house and will use them when we sell our current one.
I was shocked at how much they did and how efficient they were0 -

Many thanks SheppyD, sorry I missed your post on previous page! That sounds reassuring! We still have loads of questions as this is going to be the first time we sell and there doesn't seem to be any property in our area (Kent) going with HN on rightmove... but it's most likely that we'll go with HN to save some money, based on the positive reviews here...

I dont think it matters if there are houses going with HN in your area. It really depends on your potential buyers being the kind of people that search for property using the internet.
We havent sold our house yet with HN but we did have it for sale and received a number of offers through them. We are staying put for a while whilst the house we have bought is refurbished - but we hope that we will sell it quickly with them when it gets back on the market.
However my parents are also trying to sell with HN in the same area and the house is a more premium property and after a few weeks they still have not had a viewings.0 -
Which area are you in? We'll have to be in a chain, can only move out if we can buy something. We still haven't found any place yet, but thought maybe just put our place on the market first, then do the househunting later...0

So far, we have been happy with them, and have decided to use them again for buying our next house. I have found them efficient and easy to contact.0
