If I have a buyers money I want them to have their goods asap. I won't delay because the post office is too far away and it's too cold for me to go out.
So it has everything to do with it as far as I am concerned, both as a buyer and a seller.
Too often on ebay, part time sellers of tat assume there is no urgency in getting the ebay order out.
I guess we shall agree to disagree.0 -

Waited a few months then reopened a new one if you would avoid the ban/suspension.
My accounts are fine luckily enough but i just wonder if by checking the seller dashboard you can jump before the push!
As long as you have no warnings, no restrictions or anything then yes, closing the account and re opening one later would be OK and is something that should be considered especially if you have a bad run for any reason.
However, the moment you have any warnings I think it becomes a greyer area . If eBay consider a warning to be in any way a restriction then the seller would not be able to open a new account without facing it being closed.
Too many sellers ignore the expanded dashboard (hence this thread), so by the time they realise they have an issue it is too late. It all depends on volume of course, but the moment a small seller hits 3 lows in a category it may well be worth closing the account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. But giving the poster above as an example is 3 days slow? According to eBay's definition it isn't exceptional.
If someone who isn't running a business suffers a random courier screw up with 2 parcels on the same day do they deserve to be on the edge for 12 months?
This doesn't affect me, always been TRS and always worked the same before we had stars as service is the focus, I just find it very unfair on smaller sellers. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

Sorry I am not sure where I indicated that the star system is perfect?
Unfortunately this is how ebay measure so like it or lump it.
The purpose of the thread was to show people where their dashboard was, how to work out if they are at risk and give a plan of how they can 'save' their account.
It's not about whether you are TRS or not.0 -

A buyer leaving a low rating may just be judging a seller against another seller. So everything they buy usually gets shipped in 1 working day, but they hit someone who ships in 3 or 4 and that looks unusual. We all suffer from the occasional issue, or something get caught up en route , the problem is that if you already ship slower that most other sellers those delays can appear deceptively long.
We do after all have the same pool of buyers. If all buyers were leaving poor stars then surely we would all be facing suspension?
Even as a TRS business seller my stars are on a 12 month review as I am actually quite a small seller. Too many private sellers think we Businesses are given extra priority or allowed more poor stars and we are not.
One other thing to consider is that eBay remove low stars where a buyer makes a habit of leaving them. Many of us have experienced this first hand where stars have been removed without us even asking. Respecting your buyers helps a bit.
If you don't treat them nicely - after all, they are the ones paying you - why should they prop you up? Why should they let you continue to sell? In their opinion, you let them down. There's no reason for them to go back to buy from you again, and no reason for them to give you good feedback. If eBay see you don't treat people with the respect they deserve why should they give you any more reason to use their services?
You're dealing with people's money. Surely that is reason enough to post something out promptly? Expectations are high everywhere, not just on eBay - we bought a printer for our sci-fi club, we paid on Sunday, we had it by Tuesday, and this is an independent retailer with no DSRs to rate. Amazon mandate dispatch in 2 working days. Many sellers of consumables like ink have next day delivery if you buy by a certain time of day. It's not just eBay. Every business relies on pleasing its customers to stay in the game. In fact, it only seems to be eBay sellers that assume their customers DON'T deserve prompt, reasonable attention to their sales.
Too many people treat eBay like a free source of money. People who pay for items deserve better treatment than many people seem to assume they do. You want to be treated well as a customer, so treat your own customers well and you will have nothing to worry about."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

So, expecting things faster - I can set up a 'get it faster' next day delivery option and charge, say, £2 for it. Does not say I have to send by Special Delivery or will 1st class postage do??
Then the customer is not going to expect it faster, are they??
As I say, I do not care either way to be honest, if they suspend my account they suspend my account. They can stick their bully-boy tactics where the sun does not shine quite frankly. What they want is me to sell more to make them more money. They do get commission on everything you sell you know, all of these 'extra sales' for 'extra stars' mean they get more commission. It seems acceptable to moan about banks screwing you over but not eBay.
The sad thing is, many of you do not even realise you are being bullied by this company in this way. Here I am being told I am in 'serious trouble' because 4 people out of the 600 transactions I have done this year have decided that I did not post out fast enough, over 2/3 of them could not even be bothered to leave feedback!!
Have to admit that recently a group of us have started swapping things like kids clothes, toys and books between us recently and it means I have not had to use eBay so much for selling. Works for us and saves the time in listing etc.... If I have been given 10 items of clothing it means the 10 items I would usually have sold to buy others, is now being given away to someone else. As I say, not really that bothered to be honest, if they close my account they close my account. I am off into town tomorrow to see how much they'll give me for 400 items I wanted to sell in one lot. Even if I get 50p an item I'll make double what I would have put them on eBay for - and it'll be a lot less hassle too. Whether they take them in one go though is another question, there are a lot of items there!!0 -

1 guy slated me for the PnP charges, as I explained to him those expensive post office boxes arent free and he agreed.
Other than that I think I'm ok, my rating is standard and my compliance is high.Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -

Your low star ratings look fine but your headline figures are going to get you restricted. If you really are showing only 4.4 for p and p you are already likely to be below standard at the next review.
What is worrying about having very low overall feedback percentages but no 1 or 2 * is that most people are marking you down a bit and that is in itself an issue.
Read the thread and do a search on your trending and it should sow that you have very few 5*
Most sellers manage to mantain 4.8 or above across all the stars, even 4.7 isn't too bad, but drop to 4.6 and something is seriously going wrong.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
