How do you figure that this is a good deal?

4 carts from Brother cost £36.17 including VAT & Delivery, yet you can buy the same thing (albeit not genuine Brother, but so what!), from the link in post #4 on this thread for £6.97 delivered???

Doesn't it just show you that OEM stuff is a rip-off, after all the ink is going to be the same quality.

Compatibles are £6.97 delivered for a full set at Inkemporium.

With all due respect the poster did say Genuine Brother carts, so to compare them with compats is not really the point. I use compats all the time, but I'm of the opinion that the ink is of slightly inferior quality when judged against genuine carts and possible lasts for less copies. However overall better value.

OK fair enough it was for Genuine, and compared to to other sites they're good value.

As for more ink, I note that Brother sell 2 types of cart, 1 with more capacity; I wonder how much the compatibles have in them as a direct comparison
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

My housemate bought one yesterday and returned it for an exchange (made a weird noise) today and it was listed at £99.99 so may well have ended.... this was i a Manchester store.

May be worth phoning ahead if anyone was planning a special trip to get one this w/e!

Why would someone volunteer to pay more for ink when you can get the same stuff for < £7? What's the benefit?

Brother printer dcp-315cn in https://www.empirestores.co.uk that has been reduced from 99.99 to 49.99 must be some codes about to bring it down a bit, don`t know if its anygood.
  • Back up to £99.99 now. The voucher still works if you change the date.

Strange. Mine remembers its settings. When power is restored, it automatically attempts to reconnect to the wireless network it was connected to before power was removed.

The printer supports simultaneous use of the USB connection and the network connection. You choose whether the network connection is made using the wired network hardware (interface or I/F) or using the wireless hardware (I/F). To choose between them, you select the following.
    Menu -> 3. LAN -> 6. Network I/F
If you select the wired interface, the wireless interface is disabled, and vice versa.

If one is disabled, how do they work simultaneously?

I have a problem. I have one of these at home, and it prints both by wire and wireless. The wire remains conected to my desktop, and the laptop is wireless. Both print no problem. We have just got one a work, and set it up wirelessly. My laptop will not print there wirelessly. Any ideas? Same laptop and same printer model.

Finally received a working undamaged printer yesterday and set up was easy using the option to temporarily connect using LAN lead. Very pleased with it.
One compensation for having to try 3 different printers before getting a working one is that i have now registered 3 different serial numbers so might get 3 free gifts !

Just received my label printer - thought the packaging looked big - they've sent me a QL-550 instead. http://www.brother.co.uk/g3.cfm/s_page/50670/s_level/17510/s_product/QL550ZU1

So hopefully those that havent received theirs yet will get one of these too :):)

IIRC - I think the same occured last year when there was a similar deal and people were buying recon Brother Laser printers from their Ebay shop - so probably means they're out of stock of the smaller one.

Well chuffed - thanks to the O.P.
