Went to my local Staples and asked if I could use the voucher today, as it finished yesterday but I couldn't get down to purchase one. After a call from the till to a supervisor, the lad said yes. So thanks Staples, £39.99 it was.
Always worth asking. These are brilliant, had one at home for 8 months, no problems, this one is for my father in law.0 -
Hi,
Does anybody know if staples do student discount? or are there any other money off vouchers out there? only read this thread last night and missed the £10 off
cheers
M
not anymore - i asked today as we bought one
tried to use the expired voucher but was unable to print it out as my old printer had packed up!

Just swipped this from the Argos Brother thread:cheapaschips wrote: »To make this an even better offer, go to this page, and use the code EM0002

you get a choice of either
1 - a 2 year extension on your warranty
2 - a label printer
3 - a usb memory stick
2 years extra sounds great.
(taken from hot deals UK)
It just worked for me - I opted for the extra 2 years warranty. So, for my £39.99 I have a new all in one printer with a 3 year warranty. I'm chuffed to bits.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Worked for me too.
Figured I'd end up using compatible carts sooner or later so the warranty would likely be invalid. Chose the label printer.
Thanks for the research myusernametaken.0 -
can someone tell me how good this printer is for photo printing? thanks0

A HUGE thanks to the 4 people who just saved us £240+ !!!!!!!!! I printed off the £10 voucher, bought the printer and was going to pop down to pay £10 to extend the warranty but read the post about the free extra 2 years warranty offer. Then I told my Mum and she's done exactly the same thing. And I've ordered 2 lots of ink and photo paper for £18!!!!!
I've set it up wirelessly and it's working beautifully. It's so compact that it's the first time I've ever been able to have a printer out and ready to use rather than stored in a box somewhere! :TTL0 -

If you're after good quality photo prints, I would suggest buying a proper photo printer. I've got an Epson Stylus Photo Printer (R220) which I use for photos (it's actually sitting on the floor right now until I find somewhere else to put it, as the brother's nicked its space). The Brother is more of a home/small office machine (prints documents, scans and copies). It does print photos, but I haven't tested it to see how good the quality is. The Epson R220 uses 6 carts, whereas the Brother uses 3. Both are cheap on compatibles. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Excellent,
1. Bargain priced printer,
2. £10 off voucher offer
3. Freebie gift.
It doesn't get much better to get all these 3 at same time.:j:beer::j:beer:I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!

Can anyone offer any help connecting this machine to my Netgear DG834GT router.
I'm trying to do it wirelessly but having no luck, particularly changing communication mode to ad hoc.
Only got one PC at the moment as my kids are back at uni but don't want to use wires.
Many thanks to Bunni_boy for the heads up on this.
Edit: Sorted now. In case anyone has similar problems I found the answer here:
