Hoping somebody who has one can help me.
Is the "Wireless" connection "Always On" if the machine is powered up, or is there an on / off switch for it, or on / off selection via the LCD menu.
Essentially, is the printer emitting wifi signals at all times when turned on, or can you control this ?
Thanks for any help !TL0 -

The printer supports simultaneous use of the USB connection and the network connection. You choose whether the network connection is made using the wired network hardware (interface or I/F) or using the wireless hardware (I/F). To choose between them, you select the following.Menu -> 3. LAN -> 6. Network I/FIf you select the wired interface, the wireless interface is disabled, and vice versa.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
The new Vista Drivers are on the Brother web site (16/04/07) All functions are fully working now.

Just got mine today, rung up yesterday and reserved it thinking there would be none left, but there was a huge pile right by the door. I don't want to print photo quality prints and I'm under no illusion that it will do this, I just want a basic printer to print web pages and the odd letter from my laptop without having to unplug cables every time.
EDIT:
I finally got it working after many attempts trying to connect to the wireless network. I knew I had all the settings right, but in the end I just had to reset my router. Not sure why because the network was running fine, but if you're trying to set this up on a D-Link wireless network and aren't having any luck then try resetting the router.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -

My router had MAC filtering switched on, which was what was stopping the printer communicating.
Mine works a treat with my Mac, my PC laptop and my PC desktop. All print no problems at all and it's great to be able to put a printer where I have room for it, not so close to everything. Also, it's satisfying to have a printer without paper trays sticking out, the paper cartridge slides neatly inside the printer itself. Well worth the £49.99, and it comes with full cartridges, not the "starter" ones the guy in staples insisted it had while trying to sell me full ones0 -
I've had this printer for over six months now & can't recommend it highly enough - works superbly with my 5 pcs on a wireless home network.
At this price its' only a few pounds more than replacement cartridges (it uses 4 separate cartridges - which means less wastage).
Does anyone have a (cheap) source for genuine Brother ink cartridges?0 -
The cheapest place to get Genuine Brother carts may even be Brother themselves:

How do you figure that this is a good deal?
4 carts from Brother cost £36.17 including VAT & Delivery, yet you can buy the same thing (albeit not genuine Brother, but so what!), from the link in post #4 on this thread for £6.97 delivered???
Doesn't it just show you that OEM stuff is a rip-off, after all the ink is going to be the same quality.
Compatibles are £6.97 delivered for a full set at Inkemporium.
