Merseyside employers are enraging me!

I don't think I explained myself clearly here, Apologises.
What I am implying is that if your CV is on coloured paper, photographed or not it makes no difference to the other person who submitted theirs on standard white paper which is the industry standard, therefore you should always use standard white paper, 1 sheet of A4, back and front that clearly shows your contact details, a brief 'profile/overview', your experience/job history, qualifications and references as a minimum. (I know not everyone supplies their references I just choose too!).
You're both talking about skilled roles, not entry level admin/service roles, which is what the OP is looking for. I doubt very much that you get hundreds/thousands of applicants per role. Use of colour/font/layout DOES matter in those cases as they will stand out from the 'usual dross'.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

All you Merseyside employers who have not bothered to acknowledge my job applications - and all those of you who have knocked me back - what the hell is wrong with you all? I have over 25 years experience in admin and customer service, yet you won't even consider me for an interview.
I am fed up - I repeat, I am truly and utterly FED UP - with trying to get a job on miserable, depressing, jobless Merseyside.
If there were not so many people out of work, you would be glad of any recruit you could possibly get.
I am sick to death of being unemployed and going nowhere fast in this jobless hole.
Hi Truegho,
My sentiments exactly, haven't read all he replies, but my God I am in Merseyside and I cannot tell you how many applications I have made.................but 99 times out of a 100 no reply, surely they could get an email template of "Thanks but no thanks!"
I applied for a Doctors receptionist job last week, she called me in for an interview and I explained I couldnt make that exact time as I was in my temping job, she said she would call me back and never even bothered.....
It's just pure ignorance!!Sam B0 -

No it's not. You weren't available and the employer had a line of other available applicants. Why waste time on you when you don't stand out by that much compared to the others? You could have made up a reason to take time off work.0 -

Thereby lying and possibly putting the current job at risk - yep that a REALLY good idea (sarcastic head off)0 -

Employers don't give a damn about honest applicants who refuse to take time off work to attend the interview. They want someone available, they want someone who'd prioritise this job over their current one to show they really want it.0 -

Well said - if I was an employer the one thought going through my mind would be if he's prepared to do that to his current employer what is he going to do when he works here, how much can I really trust him/her - hmm guess I won't be employing them then'0
