We did in the end, went Saturday morning and spent loads more than the original order was for  Never got a call back, just what looked like an automated email saying sorry for the error......ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0

i have to say ive had no problems with them either, use them aboot once a month0

I've had a couple of problems when I first started using them - only had half my shopping turn up once and the call centre said I would have to go back online and reorder it - they got told what I thought if that suggestion in no uncertain terms! - half an hour later the driver came back as he'd completed his rounds and still had shopping! But the only time they've been late they called 15 mins before the end of the specified time to say they'd be late. And once they came by 1 hour early - said he was passing and thought he'd check on the offchance I'd be in. Never had any stupid substitutes although have occassionally had other people's shopping as well as my own!
I don't like Sainsbury's - no vouchers and they've just withdrawn their free mid-week delivery slots.January Grocery Challenge: £200 Spend £158.99

i use sainsburys always, they always turn up within 10 minutes of the start of the slot i've booked and are great. the other day they missed my cat litter and left it in the van and as i was on the phone complaining they said oh hang on the driver is still in the area, and he came back within 20 minutes to drop it off!
i tried tesco once as when i shop in person its with them. they were a complete joke. first of all they turned up ten minutes AFTER the 2 hour delivery slot i'd paid for.
beef jerky was replaced with smokey bacon flavoured peanuts (eh! and urgh!).
then that night i though hmm hang on, i'd ordered fresh salmon, cod, salad and 2 types of milk and couldnt remember seeing them, there was nothing on the paperwork so i assumed that a bag had been left on the van (understandable, i live in a narrow street and there were people stressing to get past the van so delivery was done in a hurry). i called tescos and they said that those items had been out of stock and there were no suitable alternatives... riiiiiight so NO prepacked salad, NO fresh fish and NO milk at all. the guy on the phone did agree that was probably not strictly true.
i got a refund for the weird nuts, and the stuff they didnt deliver but notihng for the missed delivery slot, despite asking them 100 times.
i would never touch them again to be honest, sainsburys are a million times better._____________________________________________

My local depot employs a !!!!!! chimpanzee on a blue card cultural exchange from Colchester Zoo to pick and pack all home deliveries
I would say that the PERSON that picked your shopping was just as normal as the rest of us and it's you who has the problem.
Dot com shopping comes directly from the store and the people that pick the shopping are normal people and are certainly not on any lower level than the one you seem to be on.
As someone whose partner is a member of Tesco staff it's very offensive to hear someone climb on their high horse and be so derogatory towards them.
I know that when my GF used to do the dot com shopping she would take a good level of care and make sure that whatever she picked for people was the best of the lot.
Maybe you could try and pick it yourself in future if you think the 'Chimps' that work in store are incapable.0 -
I work as a delivery driver, though not for a supermarket, and there is no way on God's green earth I would ever buy food online.
When you go into your local Tesco, Sainsburys or Asda (other supermarkets are available) don't you ignore the stuff at the front of the shelf and reach to the back for the newer stock
Also, if I'm buying some fresh steak for example, I don't know what size or price I want until I actually see it.
In my job, there isn't many opportunities to forget half an order as most people are only having 1 appliance. I feel sorry for the delivery crews as I know how much hassle I get when I take everything I'm supposed to, place the item in the required room and even unpack for the customer0 -

i totally agree with you matey, although for some people shopping delivery is a life saver... for me i have VERY limited parking in my street so if i leave a space near my house to go shopping i then have to either stop outside my house, blocking the road with the engine running, chuck all the shopping in, lock the house up, then go and park and come back and unload or find a space and then walk back to the house with all the bags.
I'm moving house in the summer though and I'm going to have a drive (!) so never ever again will i have to rely on deliveries :T
There are also other people with mobility problems or agoraphobia etc etc etc so it is a valuable service._____________________________________________

I have been reliant on home deliveries for the past few weeks as I am stuck on the sofa with a broken foot. Tesco drivers do have satnav and maps, but my house is on a new build estate and it's not on satnav yet. I put directions into the special instructions bit on the website, and sometimes they phone me for clarification.
Tesco have been very good so far, few substitutions and reasonable use-by dates, and the driver always takes the shopping upstairs to the kitchen for me.
I tried Sainsbury's once but there was a lot missing from the order which is a problem when you can't just nip out to the shops. Ocado don't deliver here so I haven't been able to try them.0
