Tesco Home Delivery Shambles

I booked a food home delivery between 9pm - 11pm for Tuesday evening. We were sat watching Life on Mars and looking out for the driver, we live in a cul-de-sac so he would have been spotted very easily lol. Anyway, it's almost 11pm with no sign of him so I rang the helpline to be told quite curtly that he wouldn't be putting in an appearance, the delivery couldn't be booked for Wednesday and did I want the order cancelled !! Nope, I wanted a call to explain the failed delivery and the shopping delivered before 4pm Wednesday as we were going out to the flicks !!

No call received so on the way home we called at the local Tescos to find out what was happening. Even though it's the local one to us, the delivery is actually made by a different Tescos. Manager kindly gave us the phone number so I wasted 10 minutes hanging on then redialled the 0845 number, another 10 minutes with no answer. In desperation I ring the helpline number again, spoke to a nice lady who requested another call for us and gave us some e-vouchers which I didn't really want but it was a nice gesture, I wanted my shopping !!!!

Today comes and goes with no call received and here comes the icing on the cake, Tescos have debited £71 from my card for the shopping we never received. We've since had to go shopping and buy more stuff to cover what wasn't delivered  Rang the helpline again and yet another request for a callback but I'm not holding my breath and have been told that the refund takes 3-5 days to go back on my card.

I'm losing the will to live

Tesco deliveries are quite useless. One of their drivers claimed not to be able to find my flat number even though the number can clearly be seen from the road. So he turned up 2 hours late. Then another one of their drivers got lost (again) and when he found it dropped everything because he realised he would have to climb stairs. He also forgot a bag of items which I was charged for.

So I decided to shop at Sainsbury's and Occado. Both their drivers where polite, didn't get lost and had no problems climbing stairs however the Sainsbury's packer forgot one item which I was charged for.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

Ive had no problems with Tesco and have found them really helpful. I gues it depends on the store and staff but my local one gets a thumbs up from me!

I tried Tesco home delivery for the first time just recently (for delivery last night). 7-pm slot... got a call at 10 to 9 asking where we were (as he hadn't delivered to us before)... and he was at the door spot on 9.

    No complaints from me.

Well, no call today either. Does anyone know where their Head Office is or have a contact number, many thanks !!

Our first (and only) delivery was great so I presumed the second would be as well and I even had a nice little tip set aside for the driver........

Personally found Tescos deliveries to be abysmal - not so much the actual drivers who are generally OK and turn up approximately the right time, but more the stuff that gets picked for me. My local depot employs a !!!!!! chimpanzee on a blue card cultural exchange from Colchester Zoo to pick and pack all home deliveries - hence most of my stuff has to be either eaten the night it arrives as the dates are so short, or the food itself is pretty poor - browning salad, meat going a bit off colour etc.
I do always call and they refund it back onto your card, but its still annoying. Last time they delivered I was missing a whole bag of veg - but I DID have a packet of nappy sacks (opened). As I dont have a child, I called them and asked for my veg, offering the sacks back, but they told me to keep the sacks for my dog (which I also dont have). This is the twilight world I live in.
Try Sainsburys - much better in my opinion!

I've only ever done two online shops with Tesco and both arrived early - one by 10 minutes and one by an hour and 10 minutes. It looks like some stores are better than others.
