Finally. Received the letter this morning. She's been put in the support group at last. 3 weeks after the WCA, so it took some time.:beer::beer:

I'd like to thank all the people who helped us get to this place. You have all been wonderful and a great support. I take my hat off to all of you :T

Would now advise anyone who believes they have been wronged to fight and keep fighting until they get it right.

Now the battle begins to get her on the right care level of DLA. Might take a break from the fight for a few months and chillax though. I'm tired from all the stress of it, although ecstatic that everything is falling into place.

Once again, I thank you all :T

Why, do you think a disabled person shouldn't claim for care needs?

The possibility of up to £500 per month, every month, on top of the out of work benefits and the accomadation with no rent or council tax to pay---yep, I can see why people would be adamant they want to be on the highest rates of everything.

If someone qualifies for the highest rate then that's what they should be on, if a young woman is struck down in the prime of life with no hope of recovery then she should be on the highest rate.

The old saying money can't buy your health wasn't invented for nothing. Rates of benefits like that will have someone living at a decent standard, as well as, or in some cases better than someone working.
  • Well yeah, you wouldn't want somebody disabled to be living at a decent standard, would you? They should be in the streets selling pencils or begging, like in the good old days. Bootstraps, dammit!!!

I just read this thread from beginning to end, and just wanted to say well done Mazza for being such a great Mum and a great support to your daughter. I know you will probably say that's your 'job', but the truth is that there are lots of people out there who fall by the wayside in this kafka-esque system because they have no-one to fight for them.

Absolutely not, they should live the same as everyone else. People are people.

However, money doesn't improve their health, so is it given so it looks good for the government?
