crikes, i wasn't around for advents last year and it's starting to give me the fear
i'm keen on keeping up the dailies and the normal comps and plan to be choosy with the advents from the advice above. although i have no idea what to expect, eek :eek:Best wins: Holiday to San Francisco, Full sky package + TV, Rewind Festival tickets & Snoozebox, 5* London hotel stay, £1000 B&Q0 -
Have no real plans as yet. Last year i just bookmarked the advents i wanted to enter and did those and any other comps i wanted to. No point getting all worked up about them. I will enter what i can and if i win i win, if i dont well its no different to any other month. I just enter what i want to£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Apart from 1st December which is an organisational nightmare :eek::eek:
I just pick the ones I'm interested in & add then to my favourites in a folder I created (Xmas). Apart from the main thread I always work from my favourites so I don't have to wade through reams of ones I'm not interested in.
Then I will work through them as part of my dailies. I will probably drop a few tho' during the month. I don't think folks should worry too much so long as they are firm about which they really want to win.
I don't think I've ever won on them but I love doing them.
Thanks all posters :A0 -
I've just started comping again and haven't even built up a routine for the normal comps and don't even do the dailies as yet.
So I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle them, maybe try them all for the first few days and see which ones are fun to do and have great prizes! My new year's comping resolution is to spend more time entering the 'Effort competitions' properly!
Thank you everyone who posts comps and participates in the Forums :T0 -
I was so up to date last year, managed to keep on top of the main board, dailies and the advents I wanted to enter. Had some lovely advent wins but not so much off the normal comps.
Am going to try my best to do the same this year, and since July said I would be up to date with the main board by 1st November. It is so not going to happen, am currently doing todays end date .
Set myself another target of being up to date with main board by 15th November, but if it doesn't happen am going to focus on the advents, attempt to end date and miss out the dailies completely!I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

I enter comps by date posted, doing all the comps (that I'm interested in) posted the previous day (when I'm up-to-date!). When I do this usually, if I come across a daily, I add it to my bookmarks, in a folder called 'dailies'. I do the dailies in the morning before going to work, and it only takes me 10 - 20 mins (depending on the nature of the comps), because I only do about 25 a day. I don't bother with all the magazine ones (I enter these once only, when first posted), only ones which actually have a prize a day.
So in an ideal world, I'd continue to do this, adding advents either into the dailies folder, or a separate 'advents' one. The only problem with this is that sometimes no-one realises to begin with that a comp actually is an advent, and if it's only a few days later that this is pointed out, I'm not going to be going back to it, so then I miss it. So I'll also need to check the advents sticky (pre-thanks to bargainhuntergirl!) on a regular basis.
I expect to end up doing about 50 advents a day. I only do ones with prizes I like, and usually end up dropping a few, for whatever reason. I had quite a few wins last year, less the year before. I generally find it difficult to keep up with all the comps posted as it is, due to having a full-time job, and there are a lot more in general in December, but I'll do my best. The past couple of years I've been sick to death of comping by January, and had to take a break for a few months! But we'll see.
I am looking forward to it though - still over a month to go yet, so plenty of time to get/keep on top of things in the meantime!0 -
I plan to get up at 6am
open a bottle wine (joke)
start the advent at 8am
see where I am at 10am
do my dailies
catch up on main board
luckily (or not) I am currently unemployed as made redundant 5 weeks ago, so loooooooaaaaddddssssa time to do comps
unless I get really unlucky and find a job that starts before the advents:rotfl:
eta will no longer do rizzla as even though I have won every years for the last 3, it takes forever to get your prize even when you chase it up.
in fact still dont have last years prize and I emailed them 3 times63 mortgage payments to go.
Zero wins 2016 😥0 -
I will be choosy - last year I was and just bookmarked the comps worth entering. Lots of the advent calendars have offers among them anyway so not a comp everyday. i find them tiring - with trying to organise Christmas, cope with kids that are as high as kites, school plays, parties etc as well as comping! By Christmas Day I am worn out!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I have no idea! Last year I did them religiously (but only for the prizes I wanted to win) but I didn't do the ordinary dailies last year which helped me to be able to manage the advents.
This year I'll have a newborn as baby is going to be here on 3rd December (providing everything goes to plan!) so I obviously won't be able to get many done. I'd still like to get some done though!2019 Wins

Wishing you all the best for the new arrival, next part is a joke, you may find you enter more advents than anyone else on here, as the little blighter will keep you up all night xxxI love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
