Hi Tilly MFW in 6 yrs - Thank you so much for commenting. It is lovely to hear from you. I hope you keep reading x
I had a very early start this morning and am consequently worn out now ! In fact I feel ready for bed. Work was ok. I was quite busy so the day ticked over quite quickly. I wore a pinafore in dogtooth check for work with a plain black top underneath and thick black tights. Although the pinafore is not new, I haven't worn it for about 5 years as I haven't been able to get in it. So I actually felt like I was wearing something new. I actually felt quite smart as well. As time has been a bit limited today I haven't sorted through any more clothes but i will be back on it on Thursday when I don't have to work. I am going to try and wear a lot of these clothes that have been lurking around for a few years and have remained unworn due to me putting on weight. The pinafore I wore today was "Red Herring" and I think I have only worn it a couple of times in the past. I also dug out a pair of black patent Mary Janes and they all looked good together.
After work I took her majesty to the park for a quick once round. I couldn't stay long as one of my neighbours had organised a residents meeting which i needed to attend. A local school across the road is in the process of being demolished. All our houses are now filthy, as are our cars, window frames etc. My neighbour had arranged for members of the local council to attend along with a few other bigwigs. Basically I just went to be support for my neighbour. Hopefully the council will either pay for some local cleaning or reduce our council tax bills a bit so we can pay for the clean up ourselves. Watch this space !
Going to get my feet up with my book for an hour or so now then an early night for me.
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day x0 -
Well done on your weight loss. Fitting into clothes you haven't worn for ages must feel like you have a new wardrobe of clothes. I have recently started using a gym and can't wait until I start losing weight. Mustn't get too impatient. Enjoy your read.2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mrs Money Penny – Hi. I have just been trying on a few pairs of work pants in a size 12 and they look like clowns pants especially round the waist. As they are in excellent condition I am going to have an attempt at altering them. I am just going to try altering one pair and if they turn out ok i will alter the rest. Good look with your weigh loss. Its the best thing I have done for myself for years !!!
Work went fairly quickly today and thats it till next week thankfully. Took the hound out for a run round the park and called at Asda to get some milk(£1). Managed to sort out my house contents and buildings insurance for the next 12 months – so thats a job out of the way ! I have just started a new book which has hooked me straight away. Its called - “An otter on the Aga” by Rex Harper. Its about running an animal sanctuary. I am just going to do a spot of ironing as I am planning on going out to my WI meeting later.
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x0 -
Hiya whenever I read your diary I get the same feeling as when reading Fortune's diary. It calms me immediately.
Many thanks, Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Tilly MFW in 6YRS – Hi. Glad you are enjoying reading what I have been up to. I will have to check out Fortunes diary myself X
Last night I was at my WI meeting which was really enjoyable. It was our branch 4th birthday party so we had a bit of a celebrate. Unfortunately I completely overindulged food wise !! At least I can afford to put a pound on these days. However I decided that it was going to be a one off and I was going to get back to my diet / healthy eating asap – and thats what I have done today . I spent £1.50 last night. £1 was for my subs. The other 50p was for 3 Prima magazines and a bucket sized Christmas pudding from the bring and buy sale !!
This morning I went to my dance aerobics class. Our usual instructor was away so we had someone new and it was very good. I have actually been a bit upset this last week (an old boyfriend making a nuicance of himself) and i think a bit of exercise has done me good, especially exercise to music which is good for lifting anyones mood. I think my overeating yesterday was also as a result of being upset. Anyway I have drawn a line under things and started afresh this morning. Took Sid in the park after aerobics and this afternoon I went to see “Side Effects” at the cinema which was a bit of a deep tale but very enjoyable. In the post today was my council tax bill for the year. Thankfully I have saved the money to pay it in full. I just want it out of the way as I dont know if my salary will stay the same over the next 12 months and I would sooner it was all paid. Hopefully I will sort this out in the morning.
Going to get my feet up soon with my book. I hope everyone is having a great money saving day x0 -
My day today has been dictated by the weather. It has been bitterly cold here in the North West with sleet and freezing wind. I decided this morning to do some alterations to some of my clothes which now drown me. I am reluctant at this stage to go and buy new work trousers when I might put weight back on, although I will do everything to make sure I dont. So I threaded the machine up with a dark coloured cotton and altered some black, grey and navy trousers which all fit beautifully now. I also adjusted a couple of pairs of gym pants which were falling off me. If i stay at this current weight I will treat myself to a few new “going out” items of clothing but my work / gym stuff looks great now its altered even though its not new. I have quite a few more pairs of trousers to alter which are cream / brown/ fawn. I will do these another day. I also tried on quite a few items of clothing and they ended up in the rag bag.
Due to the freezing weather, Sid had the fastest walk to the park I have ever done. I just couldnt stand being outside. This afternoon I decided to go to the cinema again so went to see “Identity Thief” which is a comedy. I dont normally go to see films like this but I actually really enjoyed it. Quite funny.
When I got back I paid my council tax bill in full. I feel liberated ! This week I have paid my council tax for the forthcoming year, my buildings and contents insurance. I have organised my car insurance and the money is waiting in my account to be deducted. Hopefully i will be able to do some serious saving up over the next 12 months now that these large bills are out of the way. I have been eating all my home made ready meals from the freezer these last few days. Not sure how long my stocks of food will last but i think about 2/3 weeks. I will then have to do some serious food shopping !!
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x0 -
I am so glad yesterday is over with. Due to the snow and freezing weather all my plans were cancelled. I pretty much ended up having a duvet day which is smething I have never done before. I did manage to complete a book by Rex Harper and started its sequel - An Eagle in the airing cupboard. These books are about the true life experiences at an animal sanctuary and are really entertaining. By the end of yesterday i had only ventured out to take madam to the park and i must admit she didnt appear to be too bothered about going out in the snow and freezing cold. Hopefully next Saturday, zumba will be resumed !!
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x0 -
Today has been far more successful than yesterday even though its just as cold ! I was up early and even though belly dancing was cancelled, I still managed to get out. Took the hound on a longer than usual walk. Did my meter readings this morning and submitted them to British Gas and paid what I needed to. I just feel far more in control this way !. Had another use up on the toiletries front - another small body lotion. Only about 40 to go !! This afternoon has been really nice. My friend and I went to the curry mile and had our first meal out of the year. We went to our usual buffet restaurant so we can try lots of different types of curry. Lets just say I have come home rather full. The plan now is to have a little glass of wine then draw a line under today food wise. Back to the diet tomorrow ! Going to have a read of my animal sanctuary book in a short while then an early night for me. My son has just this minute called round with leftover salad stuff from the business he works in. My chickens will love him this week. Loads of lovely treats for them.
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x:)0 -
Today has been a massive improvement on the last few days. I am feeling far more positive thankfully. I woke up very early and was out with the hound in the park by 7am. I walked to my zumba / bellydancing class this morning to find out yet again it had been cancelled. Not to be out done I decided to use the gym and spent an hour on the running machine. It felt great ! Walked home. Legs were like jelly then !! Went to the cinema this afternoon and watched "Stolen" with Nicholas Cage. It was pretty average shall we say. Had a big spend on the way home from the cinema - £1 on some milk. Its work tomorrow so I have got everything ready. I might just call at Aldi on my way home as I have been told that they have some gammon joints on offer. I will see how I feel tomorrow. Had another use up of the toiletries stash - some make up remover. I think it will be the end of the year before i need to buy anything, at the very earliest (except baby wipes which i use on my face).
Anyway I hope everyone is having a great money saving day x0
