A busy morning for me already. I was up extra early as I had a very early hospital appointment for treatment. Had a use up first thing. Finished a bottle of perfume. Called at the garage on the way back from the hospita and filled up with lpg. Also did my weekly shop.........£3.23!!! Bought milk, tins of tomatos, tin of peas, tin of mushrooms and a couple of packets of savoury rice. These are all things I need to add to other ingredients to make a meal.0

Spent this afternoon relaxing watching Broken City, which was quite good. The plan for tonight is to start reading Jeffrey Archers, a prison diary as I have finished reading my Cathy Glass book. Only got about 100 books left on my bookcase. What was I thinking !!!0

I have been busy despite the cold weather. Took Sid out to a new park this morning then walked to the gym for an hours zumba. Found a new charity shop in town and the prices are really cheap. I need to own up that I bought 4 paperback books for 80p. My friend has just been round and manicured my nails........they look very posh. Not coping very well without my laptop. A new hard drive is to be fitted fairly soon by my son.....bring it on !0

Just had another massive spend......£1- which was my subs for my WI meeting and included 2 cups of tea and biscuits. Also came away with 3 monthly magazines from the bring and buy ! Just going to have a read in bed for an hour or so.
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x0 -
My laptop is repaired... thank God ! I have been twiddling my thumbs without it. As I am not a big TV fan I spend quite a lot of time on my laptop in the evening, so it has been really missed. One of my sons has fitted a new hard drive and all seems well. Gold star for my son !!
Today has been very nice. I was up early and took the hound to the park for her run around. I walked to the gym in the town and had an hours dance aerobics class which was most enjoyable. On my way home I called at the Asian supermarket (more gold stars) and bought a bag of potatoes and a couple of carrots. Spent £1.22. I just dropped the shopping off at home and made my way to the cinema to watch the early afternoon showing of "Safe Haven". I don't usually watch romance films but it was ok. Passed a couple of hours. Came straight home as my lovely son was returning the repaired laptop. Tonight I am planning on having a bit of a catch up with the laptop then getting on with my reading.

I am posting early today as its my intention to sit on the sofa reading my book and reading magazines tonight ! Made an early visit to the doctors this morning followed by Sidneys first run round the park. I then had to go to an appointment in town which lasted about 3 hours. I then took Sidney on her second run in the park.
Other news is that I got on the scales this morning and I appear to have lost another 2lb. However my battery in the scales has been a bit dodgy recently so I have put a new one in and am going to do another weigh in tomorrow morning. That means I have lost 1 stone 9lb since New Years Day. I started a new book last night - Pure Evil by Maureen Harvey, which is very good. I also put the slow cooker on this morning and cobbled together a mince casserole using mince, onion, carrots and a beef in beer sauce mix. Its now cooling in 3 individual portions !! Not much else to report so...
I hope everyone is having a great money saving day x0 -
Today has gone so fast. First thing I walked to my town centre morning zumba class with my friend and we had a great time. After walking back I took the hound to the park for her run around. This afternoon was spent visiting my aunt and my cousin. I managed to wear a pinafore and jumper that i haven't worn for about 18 months because it was just so small. I actually felt slim today and once I have lost about half a stone more, I will be a comfortable size 10. Once i am at that size, the plan is to do some serious clothes shopping. I am going to treat myself to quite a few new things. I don't want to go shopping yet in case I see something I like and i cant fit in it properly. Generally I just feel so much better now I have lost over a stone and a half. When I started dieting on New Years Day, there is no way I would have believed I would be at this point by mid March !!
Other news is that I am still eating leftovers - OMG. I am letting some vegetables thaw and the plan tomorrow is to make a vegetable curry with it to use it up. With a bit of careful planning over the next few weeks, I think I will be able to use up the last of the stuff in my freezer and store cupboard. The stuff thats left requires quite a lot of imagination .....but its going to be eaten up !!
Used up 2 toiletries today - some face cream and some body lotion. I will add these to my signature.

Oh I am really tired after a busy day today. I got up early and took the dog in the park and prepared a vegetable curry which I put in the slow cooker....all before i set off walking to my belly dancing class at 8.30am! I also submitted my meter reading to British Gas. I am finding their website very useful as once I have submitted my weekly readings,I can check how much money I owe. Very useful for budgetting. After an hours belly dancing I spent the rest of the day with my friend and we did some window shopping. She is moving house soon and we were looking for things for her. I did have a little spend as I bought a couple of pots of tea. I also spent £3 on some chocolate from M&S. I am hoping it will last me a few weeks. I also went in Tesco and bought some milk. I got some curly Kale and 2 stir fry meals for 52p. I just couldnt walk away from them.
My sons have just been round to see me and drop off my Mothers day presents and cards. It was lovely...however I always feel sad as my own mum died very young in life and I was only in my mid 20s when she died. I have spent 23 years without her and I miss her very much. However I was very lucky that she got to see my children as my youngest son was only a few weeks old when she died...but at least she saw him.
Anyway I hope everyone has had a lovely Mothers day and a great moneysaving day also x0 -
Hi Sidneysmum just wanted to say I love reading your diary each day. You seem to have a lovely calm life as you seem to have your work life balance right. I too work part time and love it.
Glad you had a great Mothers Day and yes these days do make us remember those we love and miss.2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Mrs Money Penny - Thanks so much for reading my ramblings and commenting. Its great to know people are reading !! Good luck with your frugal plans x
Today has been just so cold. I walked to my zumba class this morning and it was bitterly cold outside. An hours zumba soon warmed me up ! After my class I had to walk to town for shall we say a legal appointment which cropped up at the last minute. i ended up getting home at 2.30 just in time to take the dog to the park for a quick run round. Anyway I am now sat in my pjs on the sofa and thats were I intend to stay till bed time. I have started a new book - Pets in a pickle by Malcolm D Welshman. I am so glad that I decided to start reading again as part of my New Years plans. I am thoroughly enjoying getting back into it especially as I can take or leave TV. Today I have done so much walking and exercise, the plan is to have a bit of the chocolate that I bought yesterday. Work tomorrow so its back to the grindstone !
I hope everyone is having a great moneysaving day x0
