Ebay Feedback
Comments
-
As a seller (I deal with all online sales for work, including ebay) I leave feedback as soon as we have received payment, I believe that is only good customer service. If there is a problem after that it will be because of the product we are selling (we are manufacturers of the products we sell), ie faulty. We send all shipments on and off ebay through tracked, therefore I know there isnt going to be a problem with postage and if there is I can see whats happening and deal with it. The tracked is for our piece of mind, not the sellers, so we dont load the p+p costs to over compensate like many sellers do. We dont make profit on p+p, in fact we lose out, but thats built into our business plan, the fact that we will take the hit for good customer service.
As far as I am concerned, once the buyer has paid, their part is over (barring issues with the product, which I would never penalise the buyer for by withholding feedback). Delaying giving feedback or just not giving it purely based on them not giving us it first is, IMHO, bad customer service. No matter how you try to justify it, it still smacks of feedback extortion to me.
As a buyer I feel the same way, I will not leave feedback for a seller that doesnt leave it for me first, after all I have completed my part of the transaction (ie. paid) first, and it really winds me up if I get messages from sellers who havent left feedback telling me to leave them some. Sorry but if you cant take the time to leave it for me, why should I leave it for you? And if you're going to message me to whinge about me not leaving it, why not use that effort to just leave me feedback, which I will then return. Obviously this doesnt include negs lol.0 -

So your one of those people to blame for bad buyers having good feedback. When your dealing with a lowlife out to spoil your day, you think - how did they get any good feedback?
Feedback is supposed to be earned. Why should bad ebayers get it - just because they paid quickly - even if they then scam the money back?
As for feedback extorsion - you say you won't leave feedback unless its left for you. So you get a bargain, it arrives in excellent condition super fast - and you won't leave feedback for the seller unless they give it you? Now thats feedback extorsion.
Common sense really.0 -

The way we sell we dont leave room for people to be !!!!!!!s. We track deliveries so we know they arrive, we have listings that have all the info people need along with our address and telephone number with an invitation to call with any questions at any time during the transaction. We respond during office hours to any purchase or question within an hour. All orders are guaranteed to be dispatched within 1 working day. We manufacture the products so have full control over what our customers receive, I personally quality control every single item before sending out. As soon as an order is ready for dispatch, the tracking number is uploaded to ebay, along with positive feedback assuring the customer that the order is on its way that day. Our products have a 2 year warranty, we even send our customers pre-paid envelopes for faulty returns if they have issues, and we are happy to refund if the customer isnt happy for whatever reason with the product we make/sell. One of the key things about our business is customer service. All these things apply where ever you buy our products, online or offline.0 -

Of course feedback is supposed to be earned, and that customer has earned it by actually paying like they said they would. So either the customer pays and we send the product and leave feedback, or they dont, so we dont. It doesnt matter how they perform in other transactions, I am leaving feed back for this particular one. Maybe it helps that we only sell buy-it-now and that we are so efficient, I dont know, but thats just the way it works for us.
Regarding feed back extortion, I said it smacks of extortion to me because it does. I dont think sellers are right in trying to justify withholding feedback as they have no reason to, as once the buyer has paid, their part is over. The sellers part isn't over over til feedback has been left for the buyer, its part of the transaction. It should go - buyer orders and pays, then seller dispatches and leaves feedback for buyers part of the transaction, then buyer receives order and leaves feedback for sellers part of the transaction. Transaction over. Obviously it doesnt always work like this because leaving feedback isnt mandatory.0 -
I don’t worry about when others leave feedback for me.
As a buyer I usually leave feedback as soon as I have received an item and I am happy with it.
As a seller I usually leave feedback as soon as I receive a satisfactory payment.
I may delay feedback if I sense a problem but that is rare.
If others are slow to leave feedback or don’t leave any it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
I find most of my buyers and sellers leave feedback for me quite quickly, a few don’t leave any and the occasional one leaves feedback many weeks after the sale or purchase.
I am now 100% on over 700 transactions so the odd transaction without feedback makes no real difference to me.0 -
