I'm glad you updated us and you are making good progress, even if it doesn't feel like it.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Had an interview but it was only paying £4.81 per hour basic. My disappointment was evident but they said they will try to find a more suitable role for me.
Cool_Chick I'd be interested to hear what company that was with for that job at that wage. Last time I checked the national minimum wage was £6.19 for over 21's.0 -
Hi everyone,
Whitewing, Yorkie1 and Upsidedown Bear - thank you so much for your kind words. Yorkie1's in particular nearly made me cry!
Thomasdown - Yes, it shocked me too. It's a company called Aditus. Based in Piccadilly Circus. If you see adverts for cheap magazine subsciptions (e.g £1.00 for the first three issues), it's them. They call it "warm selling" as the leads have already expressed an interest in the product, as opposed to going through the Yellow Pages, etc. They willl pay £4.81 per hour, but you are expected to make at least 20 sales a day to reach minimum wage. If you fail to reach your target, they will top you up to minimum wage for the first month. If you fail again, you're out. And they tell you how some staff members are earning salaries of approximately £60,000 p.a. Yeah right! It sounded like a complete con to me. And minimum wage wouldn't even cover my normal monthly mortgage repayment, let alone touch the arrears. The interview just left me feeling quite insulted that they can expect anyone to live in London on this kind of salary.
One positive though, my jeans have been sliding off me. So I tried on a pair in Asda last week and I've lost 2 dress sizes in around 4-6 weeks! Thanks NRAM! Who needs Weightwatchers?! If I had the money, I'd buy a sparkly dress and paint the town red!
And the guy from last week made an offer on my property. But only £450k. I'd usually be very happy with this, but it's £100k under the asking price so I'm holding out for a little more. It's only been on the market for 17 days. And I had another second viewing early this morning. So my fingers are constantly crosssed!
And I popped into Tesco today to buy cat litter and I discovered Turkey Dreamies! In a green packet. I've never seen them before so I gave my cat a big handful when I got home. He was super happy!
On a final horrible note, I received another stupid letter from NRAM yesterday. They are still refusing to acknowledge any of my emails or answer my questions. But my lovely Shelter advisor last week told me about the "Pre-Action Protocol" and gave me some extremely helpful photocopies on it. It's a checklist that the judge will follow if NRAM take me to court. They are required to do things like discuss if I can get Suppport for Mortgage Interest (I've already had it), get Mortgage Rescue Scheme (I'm not eligible), use a mortgage protection policy (I don't have one), discuss if my problems are short- or long- term (they are short-term), they must send me certain advice factsheets (I need to check if they have), they must consider any of my proposals to repay the debt (they haven't responded so far) and provide reasons why they will not accept this within 10 business days (I sent them a long email last night putting my points across in the exact same words as the Protocol and reminded them of their responsibilities and deadlines). They also should not start litigation if the property is in the process of being sold (it is!) or if I have started a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (for some reason, NRAM have already started a complaint with NRAM themselves on my behalf. They have 8 weeks to respond then I can refer it to the Ombudsman). So I think I am safe, but I cannot be sure. NRAM being the dirty !!!!!!s that they are, can still start litigation and the judge will postpone the case for them to comply with the checklist. But I will still have to pay NRAM's fees and charges for them starting litigation! It's absolutely crazy.
Gotta go, cat's meowing for my attention!0 -

I would recommend sending letters by a signed for postal service rather than emails. .0 -
Hi Thrugelmir - I'm extremely tight on money right now so using a Signed For service is a cost which I would rather not have to incur. As NRAM send acknowledgement emails straight after receiving my emails, I am keeping these to prove receipt of my correspondance. I know that they are receivng my emails, but they are infamous for their lack of cooperation (my seven years previous experience and information from others all over the internet). This is a really good blog:

And on another related article:

His family have my sympathies as I have been feeling in a similar way to Mr. Currie. Northern Rock and NRAM have behaved absolutely appallingly, but I do hope that just one person would not be able to create the mess that we have. How guilty are the rest of the ex-board feeling? Or are they too busy playing golf with their massive payouts? How about using their specialised knowledge to bring about industry improvements? I apologise for my bitterness.0 -

Read through Property Mentors blog. Seems full of inaccuracies. This part I've quoted below is factually incorrect.
"( Northern Rock Asset Management) for those who don’t know, is the government agency which was set up to deal with all the bad debts from banks that were bailed out, such as Northern Rock, RBS etc."
Likewise this section. Total untruth. If anything situation is the reverse.
"Not a lot of people know this, but, not so long ago there was a government directive sent down to these banks which stated that they had to get the bad debts off their books- no matter what the cost to the individual or business.".
Seems as if there's an axe to grind personally. My guess would be a failed BTL entreprenuer.0 -

Hi cool_chick. Any chance you feel strong enough to show us the rightmove link? Might even be able to help you improve the listing.
No need too if you'd prefer not - I'm just curious!0 -
I don't think that it is a good idea to ask someone to effectively give their address on here just to satisfy your curiosity.Hi cool_chick. Any chance you feel strong enough to show us the rightmove link? Might even be able to help you improve the listing.
