This is a very sad tale and I do feel for you Cool_chick (I am also an animal lover with a black cat from a rescue centre).

Anyway, if I was in such dire straits as you, I would literally do ANY job. Surely you can get a cleaning/shelf stacking/waiting/bar maid/porting/data entry job if you went to every shop/restaurant/business on the high street? Especially in London!?

When I was a poor student, this was exactly my technique and I always ended up with at least a job interview/trial before I had reached the end of the high street. You've got to swallow your pride, especially in your situation!
  • Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not updating. And this is just a quick entry. House went on market 10th Nov and has had lots of viewings, one guy looks about to offer. Government employment agency finally taking me seriously - had a training course today (wonderful trainer), although my advisor is terrible. Had an interview but it was only paying £4.81 per hour basic. My disappointment was evident but they said they will try to find a more suitable role for me. Unfortunately, when you are very over-qualified for a role, they do not want you. They know that you will not be happy so will be unlikely to stay. So they want someone else who might last longer. Employers are much more open to hiring "poor students" than poor, educated, qualified, experienced, mature personnel. Others may disagree, but this is my view. I've also been meeting with Shelter (such a relief to talk to people who understand!), constantly updating NRAM (who have been ignoring my emails), I managed to fix my computer myself, oh yes, and I've been sick. And I'm constantly researching and cleaning the house for viewings. But basically it's meetings, appointments, training, travelling, researching and waiting around in all sorts of places. NRAM are forcing me to meet with these Field Agents or they will charge me up to £60.00. But the Field Agents have no offices. And I won't let them meet me at home. The Data Protection Act says they can't phone me yet they want me to phone them, meet with them and discuss my whole life with them. They won't tell me their function, purpose, relationship, anything. So I'm completely in the dark if they are legitimate or not. NRAM are not following the Pre-Action Protocol, yet they want to rush to court. So the judge will postpone the case until they liase with me. But I will be charged thousands of pounds for their legal costs. NRAM really are very dirty. They are owned by the government so there is no incentive for them to make money. They just want to get any doubtful debts off the books so that they look clean. Hence why they rush straight through to repossession where other banks follow the rules and negotiate. Anyway. I have a headache that won't go away. I need to go and take some more painkillers. And I'm out so much or on the laptop so much that my poor baby feels neglected. I need to go and play with him. Take care everyone!

CC I am amazed at how much you have achieved and maintained in this short space of time. Give yourself a huge pat on the back if your arms are long enough!!!
