I do notice that if DH is away for work and I'm on my own in the double it is colder without him there. If my feet are cold, the whole of me is cold.

I just had to post. I have a small clock that tells me temperature. It's been saying my house is about 13 degrees C. That is with some heating on for an hour or so when I really feel the cold. I've been sat here watching tele with outdoor coat on, (removable fleece lined and water proof) single duvet over my legs and a hat on. I decided to put the clock in my coat to see how warm I was. I do produce a lot of heat but it got to 26 degrees. I'm so surprised at the difference.
I've not waited till the thermometer plateaued but it was dropping. Not scientific but definitely an indicator what a difference clothes can make.
Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.

Gosh look after yourself with living temps so low but yes, what a result. I suppose as long as your body is toasty it doesn't matter whether it's by room heat or layered heat.

We used to keep each other warm in bed - my icy feet on his legs....

The bed is super king size - I won't go into detail about the performance changing the duvet cover....

However, it's like having a wasteland between us in bed now it's so big and we no longer keep each other warm.

So we both have electric blankets and I have some pj's now. But the lack of body heat is more than made up for by having a peaceful night's sleep - OH can toss and turn all he likes and he doesn't disturb me.

Thank goodness for that my OH always says
Why can you not change the bedding yourself...and yes i noticed the difference HE likes the fact i dont kick him in my sleep anymore haha.... the joys of a superking size

I was late 1pm but plenty to choose from, I could have spent more but stuck to basics...I was going to buy a pom pom hat but in the end went for a black woollen hat, a neck warmer(a change from wearing a scarf)and a pair of gloves and a hat containing that Thinsulate stuff. Think that little lot came in around £11.

Meant for outdoors use but I can see me wearing them indoors when it gets cold as it often does...

Just seen in your signature about your weight loss...well done...I'm staying pretty well around the 12 stone mark or slightly under. Then again when you are eating less as I am it's not surprising. But as I cannot exercise much and am on strong drugs like steroids I am reasonably happy. I must admit I don't look that heavy but used to be nearer the 8st mark. Those were the days...

I thought of going in at 10am but I often wonder if they have everything ready as the doors open so I leave it awhile to be sure.

Too much information but as there's only me I was darning my thermal socks and underpants this morning. I would never have thought I would be doing that at some point in my life, I'm not the greatest sewer in the world but good enough for me.

I used to think people just replaced items these days perhaps more people do but I am more likely to make and mend. Then again I am in my 50's.
