    I have checked sockets, used all new cables and filters and I'm still getting either 2 solid green lights with the @ sign either blank or solid amber, Sky are hopeless, do I need a new router??

    Yes like 3 times and they keep messing me about and I'm not going to wait in another call queue for like 30 mins....

    probably not, let sky deal with it, (if you have plugged it into the test socket, which takes 30 seconds, and 2 screws). They will ask you to do this anyway to rule out your internal wiring

    Agreed. Plug your router into the test socket.

    And if you need a new router you're gonna have to call Sky and jump through their hoops.

    Done all the test socket stuff and still no luck. Im going to phone Sky and cancel my broadband based on general principle that their service is shocking and appalling.

    You won't be able to cancel without letting them try and fix it first.

    If you need a new router they'll send you one. If they send an Engineer and he finds that the problem is with your wiring you'll get billed for that visit.
