Well took my Reindeer Food to sell at the turning on of the Christmas Lights and they didn't go as I hoped. I was really happy with them as I'd made them in a cone this year with really nice ribbon etc. Only sold 17. Saying that most folk just headed to the Town House to watch the lights going on and then followed the music to the top of the street where they had Bjorn the Polar Bear. Would have been better if there was more stalls as folk would have stopped and looked but there was only about 4 altogether. Never mind didn't cost me anything and will take them to the school Christmas Shopping Evening on Thursday. If I had known then what I know now . . .

I made a hand painting Russian nesting doll for my hubbie. I bought the blank doll on amazon for around £8 and used some acrylic paint I had at home to paint it. He wanted one of himself (bit narcissistic?
) but I suppose you could make them Christmas themed or paint them with your kids' favourite cartoon characters. Should be good fun for the little ones to paint themselves as well. It was for me anyway
I'm also making roasted rosemary almonds like these:
They're really easy to make and look lovely in little cellophane bags with a nice hand-written label.
Also planning to give these little fellas a go this year:0 -

What do you put in your reindeer food? I think people are more clued up about it now, I make my own and won't touch brought stuff as alot of the time it contains glitter etc which is harmful to birds. I just use oats and seeds (doesn't look as pretty but will not hurt the wildlife)0 -

If you used edible glitter, would that be OK? I mean the type you get for cake decorating. I wouldn't mind making some for my daughter and she'd appreciate the glitter, but obviously don't want to hurt the animals.0 -
Wow! Not visited here for a few days and what great ideas.
Love especially the 'for your mistle toes' thanks to ChocolateIsLife for that.
Miss Wassire - my friends daughter loves gingerbread. What a great idea. Will look for something easier for that though.

Hi,
Go to poundland get some LED lights. Stick on eyes and ribbon for scarf. Turn on the light and it looks like a snowman! Attach a paperclip and hang on your tree!
