    Hi,

Go to poundland get some LED lights. Stick on eyes and ribbon for scarf. Turn on the light and it looks like a snowman! Attach a paperclip and hang on your tree!

ostrichnomore - that soap looks amazing, very professional, you have definitely inspired me to give it a go. How much wool did you have to use?

annasun - I love those lights, such an original idea, I will be making some of those as well, thanks.
  • iammumtoone - it doesn't take much wool. Several thin layers work better than thick ones - I did 4 thin layers. When you see pics online of quite lumpy looking ones I think they've just piled on one or two thick layers, it doesn't work as well and probably uses more wool. The instructions usually say about 5g per soap, I don't know how much I used but only a little out of the pack. I ordered a bag of mixed colours - 300g - so should have plenty to do the ones I need with some left over.

You need to buy wool tops or roving, you can't use knitting wool, unfortunately.

Every now and then I take to knitting scarves for presents :) My mum taught me how to knit (I can only do straight lines!!), but I can do stripy scarves, scarves with tassels... they always seem to be appreciated! This is quite a good guide here:

  • RT7 - if you google wool tops or wool roving, you'll come up with lots of suppliers. I went to https://www.worldofwool.co.uk. I made three more tonight and here's the results. Each one takes me about half hour though!
