  • I have made some homemade gifts, anyone got an idiot proof way off me uploading my photos?

And I mean idiot proof :D
  • load them into photobucket
each pic you do will have 4 links at side or underneath
use the bottom one, just click it, it automatically copies it
then come back here, hit ctrl & V at the same time
it will paste the link here and when you post it will be embedded in your post as a picture

    we love piccies here!

I think so too. I really love your sig BTW :)

Thank you for this, my DD (10) is just finishing her first one, she's going to give them as gifts to her teacher and TAs. I've made a couple too and my DD (4) has run off with them and wants the tree put up now :rotfl:

I'm only a novice knitter and couldn't grasp how to do the chain bit so I've finger knitted a chain and sewn it on.

    Great ideas everyone x

Thats brill, but the teachers will love them, DD would have the tree up this weekend if she had her way!!

Weve knitted 119 so far! DD wants 200 for her stall at the school xmas fayre xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Well just made my first 3 Pints of socks - so easy yet effective and best of all so cheap but doesn't look it! I think each 'pint' has cost no more than £1.50

I did see that our local poundland sell some branded beer glasses, Heineken i think they were, which would make a more 'expensive' touch at little cost. Unfortunately they didn't do Guinness glasses though they would be a great touch.
28/04/11 - A bad day for shoppers everywhere (Tesco shoppers that is!) RIP DTD :A
  • Morning all!

I've just read through the whole thread and I love your ideas! I might start out with some foody type recipes (have saved the limencello one - thanks for that!) before I move onto the craftier bits and bobs. (Though the flannel cupcakes don't look too tricky so I could give those a go).

    Thanks for your help! :)
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!
  • *bump*

This has dropped really far - any more craft ideas to add? :)

I've made cola cube vodka for my stepdad, decanted into a nice killer bottle. Need to do a label for it.

We also have a gingerbread house kit from ikea it was about £3 and the biscuit pieces are ready, think you just need icing and sweets. I think if you do a good job, it would be a lovely hostess gift for a party, great centre piece.

I plan on doing mine when the little ones are in bed so they can't ruin it, lol.

  • Just found this lovely website:

    http://justsomethingimade.com/2010/12/animal-sewing-cards-free-pdf-we-love-color-giveaway/

This url is for a set of animal sewing cards, which would make a nice gift - clear instructions and downloads.

The whole site by Cathe Holden has some amazing free lables, craft projects and all sorts.

Thanks for people like her who make such lovely, free things. I got a brilliant label template to use on my chutney jars.
  • Qu@l!ty s@ve had some nice christmas mugs in yesterday around 50p each.

HI my daughter is making 15 friends a "hug in a Mug" for xmas and is putting in homemade choc brownies, hot choc sachet, bag of chocolate eclair sweets and choc spoon. The problem is sourcing the mugs and how does she make the spoons?

The eclairs were 10p a bag hot choc 10p a sachet and brownies will work out about 20p per person so really need cheap mugs as ideally have a budget of £1 each for the whole thing

The idea is to fill the mug and then wrap in cello and a bow.

Do you think this is ok?
  • Thanks this is a great thread
going to make up some things to sell for a charity at work so trying to keep the costs down, where is the best place to buy flannels for flannel cupcakes,
