Hi N9eav, I have been reading this thread as I have a solid wood floor and although not scratched or worn it needs something to give it some sparkle, I was wondering how you apply the Astonish floor polish? the thought of spraying it on and buffing with a duster is a bit daunting! do you use a floor polisher?Slightly bitter0 -

Was just wondering if anyone has any OS tips for cleaning a semi solid wooden floor. The floor is fairly scratched and dull. Any of the wooden floor cleaners in the shop dont seem to be any good and are really expensive- the ones you put in the mop bucket. Does anybody know of anything home made that you could rub on the floor and polish it off to disguise the scratches and give it a nice shine!
Thankds
We've stripped and varnished all the solid wooden floors in our house. I agrree - if your floor is badly scratched, it may need sanding down again, and re-varnishing.
I'll add this to the exsiting thread to give you more ideas.

We have oak floors throughout downstairs.Once a week I wash them over with Pro Glo wood cleaner, you dilute it in water.A bottle costs £4.99 from Lakeland and lasts months used weekly.I then just use one of those waxed mops to get rid of the dust daily.0

We're fitting engineered wood flooring in our extension and I'm not sure how to deal with it. We have a dog who moults like crazy and I shed hair in similar amounts to the dog so I suspect we're going to end up with loads of tumbleweed!
We've got a tiled floor in the kitchen which I wet mop but I don't really know how to deal with a wooden floor and would be grateful for any tips.Piglet

Hi everyone,
I am just wondering what is the best way to clean wooden floors? They are the ones you can lay yourself which slot into one another?
Many thanks0 -
I use a mop with an e-cloth head - and water. Bought special wood-cleaner spray, but plain water is just as effective!Resolution:
