My gardening diary, ( amongst other things)

I too have an indoor garden, about to get bigger when I pot up the seedlings later today.
Initiative? :rotfl:The snow is finally coming down here, I'll only have to lean out the door for soil nowI was chatting to the girl in the local shop and asked what happened to the seed packets that must invariably fall off the magazine covers. I now have some White Cosmos, Gaillardia, Tomato and Pansy seeds :T:T I guessed right, they're thrown or given away.I was naughty and as I was in the vicinity of a Lidl picked up a box of the white perennials on offer. They're very tiny and will need bringing on before they can go out. Also a dark red dahlia tuber jumped into my basket:o I'll pot that up later in the week, still too cold for it to start growing I think. The poor daffs are being hammered by the wind and snow, but they still keep smiling through. I love daffs! I have a pot of white ones in bud, can't wait to see them in flower too.
This is what your garden could / should, look like?
I personally, love these too, although i don't think i have any.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Progress report. No progress to report regarding sunflower seeds and elephant poo. It's early days?
Elsewhere, things are growing like wildfire. Indoors, that is. Must be all that central heating? You were right about the poached egg plant, piquant. It's growing / spreading, like wildfire. It's gonna need planting outside? In your dreams? I also have one teensy-weensy "honesty" shoot, in magenta, this morning.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Even less progress to report. Gardening is on hold. With the extreme weather forecast set to continue until easter, there's nothing i can do. I've done all the preparation i can do, indoors, (although i'm sure i still have some more sweet pea and sweet william seeds lurking somewhere, which i can't find.)
Some of the plantlets, (is that the word,) are now starting to outgrow the seed trays and pots. It's only two weeks since i planted them. Many of my seeds never grew outdoors, last year. It's obviously the way to go, although it's grossly inconvenient. Which reminds me, some of the seeds i planted last year, had started to grow outside, before the snow came, ( i just never bothered to move the pots.) I've no idea what they are, and i forgot to bring them inside. Maybe i should try and retrieve them, today?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Just watched the tail end of a gardening programme, which says i should be potting on, my seedlings?
There's an awful lot of them. Mixed flowers for hanging baskets, sweet peas, and the poached egg plant. It just aint gonna happen. There's no way i am hand picking and potting 100 (est) poached egg plant seedlings. No way. Still, 100 ish seedlings for 30p, wasn't bad value for money?
As an aside, the (one) chocolate cosmos looks incredibly healthy, today. I'm still not convinced it's the same species as the chocklit plants i grew last year? Only time will tell. At this rate, it won't be long before it flowers? No sign of life from the other chocolate cosmos, yet, and as for the chocklit plants? They are still in hibernation.
As another aside, the lily of the valley i potted a few days ago, appears to have taken and is growing, as are the lupins. That was quick? Must be all the central heating, (why am i so cold?)
Right. Recky of the indoor garden - done. Must water pepper plants. Then move on to doing something constructive, before i tire, and retire into a vegetative state, for the rest of the day.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I'm only thinking about my garden too, tha knows......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
It's under a white blanket of snow, and there's a nice little snowdrift around 6ft high, in the corner next to the bird table.
Hard to believe a few days ago, it was a mass of colour and spring flowers.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

tis sad, mine looked like the edge of No Man's Land and now it looks like No Man's land in snow. We just have BIG bushes and mud. And wee'd on grass.
I am an instant garden person tho, never have time to plant seeds!
Mind you I did love it as a kid.

Just read the local weather news. Seems just about every road is closed, and apparently the snowploughs and gritters gave up, overnight. Snow covering layers of ice, the roads are going to be treacherous. It's -4 C outside, ( + windchill factor ) I'm still going to see if i can retrieve and resuscitate unknown plant.
Looks like i'm going to be housebound for some days, yet?
I suppose i should be thankful the power hasn't been affected, (yet.) I shouldn't have said that?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

It's very good therapy, if you are stressed, buffy. You'd be surprised. xx
I don't know the first thing about gardening, ( can't you tell?) It's all trial and error. :rotfl:Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
