Your monster should be magnificent very soon. It will be OK in the garden as long as there is no frost (so not this weekend then!)
I'd suggest playing it safe and waiting until end of May before putting it out in the garden for the summer. NorthernLas is right about cuttings, just think you'll be able to sell hundreds of cuttings from a humungous catus :rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I have a puppy, so I can't use any of the very effective blue pellets (I bought them last year when THEY got too much for me)
Puppy is lovely and is remodelling my garden
I have found plants that survive well are sweet peas, nasturtiums (tho' get attacked by blackfly) and pansies. Sunflowers are OK if you keep them inside until the stalks get hairy.

I love puppies, what sort of gardening breed is he/she?
Nastursians and pansies will also self seed meaning you get them for free next year, just not where you expected! Also good are calendula, pot marigolds. I have some bright orange ones which self seed year after year, they look lovely with blue plants too. I've never grown a sunflower, not sure why.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Luckystepho : Unfortunately, I don't think Chocklit plants are edible
They smell of chocolate and vanilla
Piquant : She (Daisy) is a German Shepherd / Akita / Husky and is brilliant at digging and carefully carrying things from the house to the garden and big twigs the other way. At 7 months she is 30kg (5 stone ish) and still growing. A happy bright teenager who doesn't know quite how big she is - oh my ...0 -

My marigolds did brilliantly, last year. The same can't be said for the sunflower. I think i'll give sunflowers a miss.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Should i use rooting powder?
I will pot one up for you this weekend. I'm afraid that's all i have to exchange, at the moment. Chocklit plants, watch this space? Too early to tell if they have survived. However, i shall pot my two new chocklit plants, this weekend. Yes i will, yes i will..............Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I didn't realise how "important" the gardening had become to me, as a therapeutic use, and the void in my life, as i've had very little to focus on, these last months. I'm not sure how i'm going to physically cope with the gardening, though.
Mlh (my little helper,) shifted the bags of compost for me. They are also bringing a drill, so i can hang Mr humungous cactus indoors or outdoors, as appropriate. It's making so much of a difference to my life, at the moment, having mlh. It's now going to be a mammouth task to me, planting all those seeds this weekend. Twill have to be done indoors. I now have "proper" seed trays. I have compost. I have seeds and bulbs. I have a mountain of pots and hanging baskets. No excuses. Best make a start? The only thing is, my living room will be converted into a greenhouse? :rotfl:
Ah well. Needs must and all that.
(oh, and the good news is, i got my cold weather payment. I wonder if there will be anymore?)Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
