Played around with 8 for a couple of days now and I think I like it, but what do I know... I also like Vista!

Was it worth making the change/upgrade? Hmmm probably not, but for £14.99 I can't complain, there's nothing I've noticed that's drastically different from 7 other than that initial Metro UI. It does feel snappier and a bit more responsive..but that could be my imagination. One thing has puzzled me a bit...this laptop scored 4.9 under Win7 WIE but now only scores 4.7 since upgrade.

WIE noww goes to 9.9
so they have changed the scores for PC components accordingly

I'm going to sit on the fence with Windows 8 until the first few updates have rolled out and they've fixed the bugs and customer complaints.

- when you use the UA to install Win8 on a PC as its running it automatically [pre-activates] embeds the product key on the system
- when you are doing a DVD / USB install it will require you to enter a product key during that install

I've just found that the IE in Windows 8 isn't supported by my company's payroll system.

I'm running FF on mine, but not as a tile , the pay cut was in respect of your company payroll system not supporting it (facetious only )

Just ran the upgrade assistant and bought it through that, downloading now.

Where exactly is it saved on my computer as I want to make a boot DVD of 8?

After d/l it asks if you want to burn to DVD.
