Thank your lucky stars you only found rugs in the attic.
When we moved in a few weeks ago, I found a small basket in the attic, containing a bottle of surgical spirit, a tube of lubricant, and a vibrator. I was not impressed. In fact I nearly puked. My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0 -

Moved in to new house last month. My wife found a pair of old yellow-stained knickers on top of the cupboard in the downstairs cloak room. Yuk.0 -

Ah, so that's where I left them.:DMy sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0 -
Frankly there shouldn't be any problem.
Vendors should remove all their chattels - including rubbish - from the property on completion. End of. They're not entitled to dump their rubbish in someone else's property - why should they leave it for their purchasers?
There's nothing petty about a purchaser not wanting to take on someone else's crap.0 -

Surgical spirit? What on earth... the mind boggles on that one :rotfl:0 -
I left some rubbish on a bulletin board recently. Someone was talking about house prices always rise/are going to fall and I just dumped some rubbish and left.0

No, I didn't find a rug, I left one. I put it in the loft because although tatty, my first child was conceived on it, and I didn't have the heart to throw it out.
I'm a sentimental old fool:A
Surgical spirit is needed to get things clean. Did you throw the 'toy' you found away? There a fortune brand new  .Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
Enjoying the rants, I must admit - keep it up!!
For anyone seriously interested, If it states in the contracts that the vendor will offer vacant possession upon completion (very standard and usual, as far as I'm aware) and then if the odd item was left in the property after completion, this could be classed as a breach of contract and the buyer sols could report this to the vendors sols.
However, In my opinion, if all someone has to worry about is a few leaves and a little bit of junk (and at worst a trip to the tip) then they have led a very shelted life!!DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster
