Do not subscribe this - whatever deal they offer you - it is a con.
Basically you sign up with the offer a a free something - and a free trial - but you need to select 10 items for the free trial - or else it isn't free.
Once you have signed - up - you can not cancel - if you have any films - or if they have posted any films to you
if you change your package - you are immediatley charged.
I am currently reporting them to trADING STANDARDS - In the meantime
SPREAD THE WORD - DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO LOVEFILM
Perhaps it's best if you wrote don't subscribe if you just want 2 weeks free dvd's and have no interest in the actual service.
I used them for 6 months on their 3 disk package and they were fine. I'm not going to check but I bet everythings in the terms and conditions so I expect your wasting Trading Standards time. Something they dislike if you haven't read the details/small print. I've once had them look come and look at a sign in one of my shops and check it had small print which of course it did. The guy said "theres old people being conned thousands of pounds all the time & I've got to look at a sign"
Personally I use Blockbuster now as they are slightly quicker at getting new films out.0 -
Just had 3 month trial with them.
No problem canceling at all ?
removed all titles out of the list, canceled my account online, link is in account section. posted my last two discs back.
Account said waiting on return of outstanding title then canceled within 48hrs
of me posting the 2 discs back.

Used them when they were Screen Select and was good as gold.
Kept sending me gold gift vouchers as well!0 -
I used to say I'd never join LF again but poor, slow and ineffective service from BB forced me to re-think. I've been back with them just over a week. Looking good so far.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -

it used to be screen select
vue are a movie theatre chain that do offers with lovefilm (if you sign up to lovefilm using the info off a vue movie ticket you get 4 free tickets for future movies)0 -
I've had problems with Lovefilm too - and yes, as a paying customer. I would not recommend them.0

I've gone back to Lovefilm after being with Blockbuster for 7 months which was fine but the last month turn around has been slow.
The first time when I cancelled with Lovefilm I had to phone up, had a few questions asked and offers to stay but it didn't take 30 minutes. I can imagine that case above is just a one off.0 -
Another vote for Lovefilm here too.
Like Tim I've been a member of Blockbuster for 8 months - great service in the beginning but lately it has slowed down to a ridiculous rate.
I've just gone back to Lovefilm and so far they're brilliant. I know this thread is anti LF but a balanced view always helps.Don't grow up. Its a trap!

I too have had problems with Lovefilm. I opened an account with them after they sent me a special offer and some how two accounts opened. I rang to cancel and the person assured me this had been done. The next day £4.99 was taken from my account for the special offer. The next day £9.99 was taken. When I rang again to cancel the girl could not understand that I wanted to cancel all accounts from that moment. She was insisting that I received the dvds that I had paid for. I am just hoping that I got the message across. One account was opened through MSN which seemed to operate differently to the other one.0
