I was just counting up yesterday, and it is just over 8 months since Alan was diagnosed and only 3 month come Saturday ince he paed away. It seems ages since he died, I was amazed that it was only 3 months coming up :( I had lost the bit of paper I'd written the telephone number on when the doc's secretary had rang amongst all my other bits of paper on my desk ;) and I nearly put it off, but looked it up online and rang them in case I conveniently 'forgot' about it - not that you lot would let me forget ;) :A

I think we are all much better at giving advice than taking it :rotfl: :rotfl:

We missed out on this only got dogs after about 20years of marriage dont quote me on that :) Live and learn unfortunately no going back 20 + years to get a pup.
Rejects for free how you get one of those :D
I did sy to the SIL dont look for a pup if you are not 100% sure as they are so cute

A guy who works for my Niece's hubbie asked if he kne of anyone ho wwanted a pup a one of the litter they had jut old, had been returned by a family member becaue one of their other dog was attacking it. My Sister mentioned that he was thinking of asking us as we'd not long lost our Bonnie, but I'd told her no, the two we had then as enough. But then, a week later, when I was back home visiting Alan in hospital after his open appendectomy, he text me to ask. I told Alan that I didn't think it was a good idea but he asked what it was and if it was a small dog we could manage it. So we agreed that I ould ee about it when I went back up North. When I saw her photo I fell in love with her and I collected her up, my neice and hubbie looking after her from the Sunday until I got home on the Wednesday. I brought her home on the train the day Alan had his op, which is when they found the bowel cancer. If wwe'd knowwn, we wouldn't have got her, but I was glad we did as she helped me through that time, when other 2 in kennels

My neice's hubbie has since asked how she is getting on, as all the other pups were returned too as the people couldn't manage them as they were too boisterous and manic

My name is a bit of a cheat these days David. We had 3 Dogs Bonnie, Bess and Billy, when I registered with MSE. Our eldest Bonnie had to be put to sleep in January this year, good old girl :( When Mr 3Dogs was diagnosed with terminal cancer in February, we had to rehome the larger dog Billy as he would have been too strong for me to handle, as Mr 3Dogs was already struggling with him as he'd got stronger and outgrew our Jack Russells. Meanwhile, I had taken in a cairn/yorkie cross puppy who was looking for a good home after being return to the breeder. So I now have Bess, our 8 1/2 year old very-rough-coated Jack Russell, and Molly, the pup who is 10 months old now

What dogs do you have David?
Got a cairn terrier. Rolls in all sorts if we let him.

If we could simonise him...... - wait that doesn't sound totally legal- need to go and check!

Thanks hun. I know how hard it must be with you caring for your Mum (((hugs))) but great to see you posting

Thank you, I know you know how hard it can be....

It is getting harder, I felt so helpless last week when her pain was not under control. It amazes me she is still on her feet but a very determined lady who just pushes herself to the limit time and time again. She has an amazing palliative care nurse now, and she takes time to listen to my worries too. Another of life's :A
