read (and follow) the link in post 10 as to why to uninstall bloat. The tune up utility was in your (now deleted) logs, and should appear in control panel, add/remove programs, it's bloat, bloat uses ram, use more ram than you have installed, machine goes slow. When you get your commit charge below 512MB, the machine will be much more responsive.

    post a hijackthis log

It's upto you, if you want it to be faster without resorting to paying someone, follow the advice, and post the hijackthis log and model details that have been requested. If it's a branded machine, the model number is usually on a sticker/invoice/manual - follow the links in post 20, and the how to post a hijackthis log instructions are in the link previously mentioned - post 10, and in many other threads if you search for hijackthis. Post the information requested to diagnose the avast problem - if the problem is still apparent, a reinstall may cure it http://www.filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/, but post the logs first, in case it's a false positive.

If you take the time to read and respond fully to the posts in a timely fashion, you will get better advice in this forum than most (if not all) pc shops, and it's free. There are a group of people here who know their stuff

Take it to a pc shop, and there is a good chance it will come back minus some or all of your data (which you should be backing up anyway), along with a bill.
