car seizures by police for no insurance

I sincerely hope they crush the car - then you won't be a menace on the roads (as are all uninsured drivers)."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Quite - with 6 points on the OP's licence, car insurance is going to be beyond their budget - hold on, it was anyway, but that didn't stop them driving, so let's all hope their car gets crushed!"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

You could try asking friends with comp insurance who have driving other cars cover .... and their policy books must not have the exclusion clauses
*cannot be used to release an impounded vehicle.
*The other vehicle must have it's own insurance
Quite a few policies will have one of these exclusion clauses. but if you're lucky it might be possible.
You could buy insurance even temporary 1 week insurance.
That won't work. The vehicle has to be insured.
When insurance policies allow you to drive other vehcles it just allows you to drive vehicles that already have their own insurance, but you are not included on the policy.0 -
The cheapest way to have a car seized by police? Er I would have thought stealing the car and not paying for driving lessons or a test would cost you nothing!helpmeplz11 wrote: »Hi can anyone help advise me of the cheapest way plz

Lets hope this has been an expensive lesson to the OP.
If you can't afford to insure a car, then you can't afford to run one, as insurance is just another part of the running costs for owning a vehicle.
If you do as someone else suggested, and just use short term insurance, then as soon as that expires they will probably catch you again. There are ANPR cameras all over the place these days.
So if you can't afford to run the car, then let them crush it, and either get a bike, or use public transport.0 -
Smells like troll this.
However, the options for the cops are:
Flog it if it is a nice car.
Crush it if it is a shed.
Given most people who can't afford insurance tend not to be in nice cars it'll be made into a small cube at some point in the near future and if the OP is geniune, it'll be a job well done too.
Shanks' pony for you in future I feel. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
If you'd paid attention at school you'd have learnt how to apply written English correctly; as well as learned foundations of vocational skills that would have resulted in better employment oppertunities, and thus the necessary financial means to own & run a vehicle.0

I believe they'll sell it if valued over £4k. Not sure where I know this from but I think its right...Smells like troll this.

And there's the real flaw in the seizure (and continuous insurance) laws. The people who are a real problem with this won't be put off by the car being crushed either - they'll just pop out and buy another banger for cash because, as soon as you have those 6 points, it's cheaper to throw a £200 car away every month than it is to get legal.0
