  • Afternoon all.
My Nan used to say 'black as the hobs of hell'.
Julie, there is a film of the 1st Stephanie Plum book, book number 19 is out near my birthday, I've asked for Amazon vouchers for my b'day, so will get it then.
Today was the last one of the 'duty from hell' next term different areas are being used.

Julie - MIC is my guilty pleasure too :D love it!

Today has been a bit of a meh day. Grey, miserable day here, and generally just feeling a bit out of sorts. Spent most of day driving round to various places to do health and safety work placement vetting, yawn! Did manage to pop to shops though and bought hair dye and some cheap trainers for £7 :)

OS wise - laundry to put away, packed lunch made, dinner is HM veggie chilli from freezer

    Have a good evening all

lw - i really feel for you. when i broke my arm i couldnt manage hardly anything and im feeling for you right now. i have a suggestion tho - just ask your other half...i really can see you want to manage this yourself but he wouldnt want you to struggle :(

I think that's what it's going to come to; the problem has only come to light today - up til now I've managed, but my joints are getting worse by the day. It'll take a bit of courage though - in the 10 years we've been together, I've never even epilated my legs in his presence.
LW - Maybe you could have your underarms waxed at a salon?
    LW - I'd second a salon visit, you'd probably only need to go once a month/every 3wks.
I'm afraid a salon is not an option. I have a major phobia about physical contact with anyone other than Mr LW, to the extent of I dislike even shaking hands with people. Hence I never even visit a hairdresser, let alone have anything more "intimate" done professionally.

As I say, the problem only manifested today - I did my legs, then went to do the ol' arms, and .... uh, oh, I can't do it!!:eek::eek:

<sigh> I think it's going to be yet another task for my poor long-suffering DH.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • LW - maybe you are just having an off day, and you'll find that you can do it next week? If Mr LW is to be recruited could you then maybe use cream or wax so that it lasts longer and therefore needs to be done less?

LW, maybe if you do one or the other, rather than underarms & legs in the same session, you may be able to look after your deforestation without Mr LW's help? I understand that it must be very challenging to rely on your husband to help with those lady-jobs :grouphug:

Beemuzed, good wishes to you & your DH - we have a very close friend who is a bowel & bladder cancer survivor.

Cat, enjoy your DH being home.

Very late I know but I couldn't go to bed without giving a big hug to Beemuzed, one for your DH as well. A lot of you are coping with really awful things and you are all so brave. I love you all.

LW: No helpful sugestions I'm afraid but the suggestion about having armpits waxed.....Ouch!
    Nighty night.
