Morning all,
Its a bit grey here but not cold, and dry up to now.We are still having intermittent broadband issues and our house phone has now been off 11 days  as have plenty of others in the area.I tried to post yesterday, nearly finished and it went off again.I feel really sorry for the chap at the corner shop-he can't take any card payments and must really be losing out.Theirs has been off 16 days.He has been on and on at bt and they said it would be fixed yesterday but its not:(.
Halight,so glad the tooth is a little better, and good luck for whenever you decide to have your op.
RR-sympathies,DH and DS2 had horrible coughs and colds last week.
BB-glad Maud is a lot better.
Bitsy-hope you are ok.
Had a nice but hectic day yesterday,DB brought little niece up and we did a quick bake before DGD arrived. Her Mum had asked if I would babysit so she could help her Mum out in the shop she works in as someone had called in sick.Having her on Friday too :jMind you,my back is giving me some gyp now,I find her heavy to pick up when she needs changing or putting in the high chair etc.Not much got done in the house yesterday, though DH tidied the kitchen after tea :T,which was using leftovers from the weekend, mix & match:D
Reduced price turkey steaks my neighbour picked up for me for tea-she knows I use a lot of it as DS2 cant eat chicken. He and his GF have decided to end things amicably as she is going in the army and they don't think it'll work.He has his DD to think of and has her at weekend so cant just go off to see GF then. She has been planning this career for a long time,we all wish her all the best as she is a lovely girl.
Right, better get on with the washing/ironing
Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning All
It is really mucky weather out there, I was going to town, but I think that I will wait until DH takes me in the car.If you google it the second site down will show you a picture of it:) Its a very old saying, from mostly very old Londoners ;)and I'm certainly in that catagory :rotfl:
It refers to Newgate prison and how bad it was if you were sent there.
DH has just gone to the dentist, he lost a filling on Sunday.
DD came home last night with a stinker of a coldso she is tucked up in bed.
DS has been told by DH to clean his pit of doom today or there will be trouble when he gets back.
halight glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better
bargainbird :T great news about MaudBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hi all.
Misty and damp in the Land of the Concrete Cows (which, btw, someone has "re-painted" with skeletons, presumably for Samhain/Hallowe'en) so the washing I put on overnight is on the A-frame and another airer, drying indoors.bargainbird wrote: »Maud the wonder dog is soooo much better....all your healing vibes worked :TOne of the girls laid a huge egg yesterday, it's twice the size of the others. I've just weighed it - 3 1/2 ounces.JackieO I've never heard the saying about Newgates knocker:rotfl:
No doggies here at present, so the bungalow's very empty.:( I'm trying to work up some enthusiasm for dusting the lounge, and failing.
Dins tonight is one of Mr LW's favourites - Quorn fillets in HM white wine sauce with chips - he's chipped the potatoes and left them in a bowl of water for me.:A
On a sobering note, I can now no longer tie my hair up myself (I do this before my morning bath to keep it out of the water); it's now yet another task Mr LW has to help me with.:( I was managing by resting my left elbow on top of the towel rail and sort of leaning into it, but it's just too painful to even do that now.:(
Gents, please skip the next bit::o
I tried to defuzz my underarms this morning, and I can't manage it:( Not sure what to do - that's a "need assistance with" too far, to be honest.:( I can do the left side, but can't reach across far enough with my left hand to do the right side.:( If anyone has any ideas for a trick to get round this, I'd sure be grateful. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Have survived the pit of doom! Afternoon all. Productive day here as got ds1 off to Fulltime school for first time in 5 months. First full day at the special school, he's the youngest by 2 yrs, so must be daunting for him. Parcelled ds2 to school and then took a freecycle sofa round to someone who is just starting out. Bless her she has nothing, so will see if I have anything else I can sort out.
This emptied the conservatory which I am going to use as a craft room now that we seem to be going into the crafty business! Tackled the boys rooms as am donating some of their toys to a dogs rescue home - they hold various carboot sales! So I have some tidy rooms. By tomorrow lunch they must all be tidy a the disability social worker is coming over - Eeek!
Chicken for tea tonight not sure how yet. Will get back to scrubbing after have finished coffee!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
