I must be greedy, I put 40p - the max available. But I figure this has to include not only petrol but insurance and road tax....not cheap! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The inland revenue mileage rate is 40p.
There are two ways of claiming mileage costs:
1. Claim 40p per business mile (up to maximum number of miles, can't remember exact number but think it might be 25,000 miles - excat figure will be on the Inland Revenue website)
2. Claim a percentage of all costs relating to your vehicle (car loan interest, fuel, tax, insurance, servicing, repairs, anti freeze, oil, new windscreen wipers etc etc). The actual percentage will be the proportion of business miles against private miles & you will need to keep a log of daily mileage. eg you travel 10,000 in a year. 4000 miles are personal use, 6000 miles are business. You can offset 60% of your total vehicle costs agianst your tax.
You can calculate your costs using both methods & then claim the method that benefits you the most, but can't keep switching between methods.0 -
Hiya
Who change the name of the thread again. This is the third name it has been called in as many months !!
Haven't been on this thread for a while. I caught the pregnancy bug that seems to lurk here (BEWARE - sorry I was alarmed to find out how many MS'rs were pg), and was feeling so terrible for nearly two months that I didn't do any MS work. I managed to drag myself from bed to work and back again that that is about it. I am feeling a lot better now, but still having a bit of MS (there are two kinds of MS).
The reason I am back is I managed to bag three shops on Friday. Ha, I had forgotten how much I hate doing the reports. Anyway, it will add a few more pence to the kitty. Haven't seen much in my neck of the woods, but that is the way isn't it.
I also have the delightful job of sorting out my accounts, and then my tax return. I was doing okay until I felt pg (but didn't know) so hopefully it is just a few weeks worth that I have to catch up on. I do have my whole year (well from Nov) of mileage to work out. That should be fun.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and it is nice to see so many new faces.
To the poster about the stamp jobs. I have a prepaid mobile so always buy top ups, but I heard of someone else buying the same and selling on e-bay. Apparently people had money in the paypal accounts and could pay for the top up that way, but didn't have cash or whatever to buy it at a shop.0 -

With the Gfk ones you can see the whole training before accepting. I haven't got an assignment showing to check but iirc you click on the project name to view the training, then tick or cross to accept/decline.0 -
All I have is the place name, date and address and I have put my mouse over the assignment to see if I could click on it. It wouldn't let me. Then it has the accept and decline.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot
