On another topic been trying to contact GRG all morning to change an assignment from today till tomorrow. (Tomorrow was one of the offered days). But can't get through, no-one seems to be in the office and my message wasn't returned. Would you go ahead and do it tomorrow anyway? Do you think I will still get paid?

I have just done a MS in an eating establishment. The place didn't normally issue receipts. I asked for one and this must of set alarm bells going as suddenly the manager who had been grumpy was all happy and smiley and told his staff to start cleaning everything and he went round and asked if people were happy with their meals and needed anymore condiments, then he checked outside and in the toilets!!!
It may just have been a coincidence but I find it difficult to believe it was.
Next time I go as a non MS I am going to ask for a receipt!!

I have been doing my sums for the IR and it seems that when I add up all my miles and copies expenses and stuff I am virtually in the negative won't this set alarm bells ringing at the IR and they'll investigate me??

I had the same situation and have adjusted my petrol so that I make a small profit. I am now trying to accept more profitable jobs and only doing the smaller ones if they tie in with a better one.

I haven't really made a loss it just looks that way IYKWIM!!

I like do jobs when I am in the area etc or near work or visiting relatives, or sometimes the meal ones that don't have a fee which I like as its a free nioght out in reality then that is automatically in the negative if you take into account your printing and mileage then.

Thanks for your help I will try and adjust it alittle.

I signed up to GRG a few days ago and haven't heards anything yet - how long do they normally take to give you your first assignment?

Personally I wouldn't without knowing that it was fine in case you don't get paid, unless you're not buying anything or spending money to get there, then you are just 'spending' your time I suppose. Have you tried emailing them too? If you do make sure you put the job reference and URGENT in the title - a tip that jobbingmusician passed onto me!!

Hope you manage to get a hold of them.

I wish I had had a similar experience! Went for lunch today and asked for a receipt as you had to order at the bar. Thought they had sussed but obviously not as the plates were dirty, the food took 50 mins to arrive with no apology, the salad was warm and the toilet light was broken with no sign letting you know!
