I'm now registered with 4 companies and have been offered/accepted jobs from all of them.

Does anyone know how long it takes for TNS to get back to you? I've done the online test (didn't realise how long it was) but haven't heard back from them yet!

Also is anyone signed up with NOP? whats your opinion of them?

It took them a few days to get back to me after I did the online test. They then sent me some forms to fill in, which I returned about 10 days ago, and haven't heard back from them.

Maybe they're very busy at the moment...

Grass Roots rang me to offer an assignment, it was on my mobile and the mobile signal went, I tried ringing them back and it went straight on to an answerphone so I have no idea what it was for!!

Ooh, does anyone here work for Mintel? I came across their site today (http://survey.mintel.com/shoppers_survey/shopper.htm), and they are a well-established name, aren't they...

  • I have done work for BAI - inc those 10+ shop jobs and they were absolutely fine with me. Admittedly the jobs are hard work and might not have been worth it individually but adds up to a tidy sum - am doing more this weekend.

Am also a relative newbie but have done over 70 jobs in the last 2 months - getting a little more selective now about the ones I take!! Really like certain companies that ring you up but am enjoying a months gym membership at the mo courtesy of a not so highly rated company :p

NOP / Cybershoppers is all one company

I feel they have alright rates for fairly standard work. Also think Retail Maxim have some interesting assignments but not always brilliant money - however haircuts aren't bad!!

Hope you all enjoy - am always interested in new suggestions!! :T :T

    !

My GAP ones don't print properly either. Its very confusing when trying to answer the questions after the shop visit. I had put it down to them being designed for paper other than A4.

Hey funkygibbons......I actually give staff a little leeway....if their overall service has been excellent then I usually let silly little things go as I think it ends up making a report sound unduly harsh.

Sorry to pick this up, but that's a big no no!

You are there to give a factual report on your experience in the store. You can't give leeway based on your feelings. You have to leave your emotions at the shop door in this kind of job! It's umprofessional to make up bits because you don't want to be harsh on the employee. It makes the exercise pointless as your report is not a true reflection of what happened on your visit.

It is important to report exactly what happened, regardless of your feelings. You might determine it as a "silly little thing" but it might be something important to the employer.

You might also get picked up if the employee does/doesn't do it to the next shopper(s), and a training issue emerges.
A question to all you more experienced MS's.....has anyone ever had a problem being paid for jobs.......I'm owed around £100 by one company for jobs done over 6 weeks ago and whenever I ring its "yeah sorry, we've got a bit of a backlog so it'll be a week or so". Is this normal?

It depends on the company. Some work I did earlier this year for a reputable company was paid late due to problems they had with an external company they use to handle their pay run, so problems do happen. What is the name of the company? PM me if you don't want to name and shame here, and I'll see if I can help.
Here I go again on my own....
