As a retail manager I'm eagerly (or not so eagerly) awaiting our mystery shopping result as we always get mystery shopped in August - our busiest time of year.

The flower above is given with love and affection to all you mystery shoppers out there :D (a bribe - naaah, never ;) )

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

the flight ones sound / look good ,fab to take note of in case i plan to go anywhere :T
  • As a retailer, make sure you all play a straight bat as the staff get annoyed if they get what they perceive is an unfair result

and it does affect the bonus that they get at the year end
  • Who is BAI?? Does anyone have a link to their site please?

Hey funkygibbons......I actually give staff a little leeway....if their overall service has been excellent then I usually let silly little things go as I think it ends up making a report sound unduly harsh.

A question to all you more experienced MS's.....has anyone ever had a problem being paid for jobs.......I'm owed around £100 by one company for jobs done over 6 weeks ago and whenever I ring its "yeah sorry, we've got a bit of a backlog so it'll be a week or so". Is this normal?

Wouldnt bother - I've been mystery shopping professionally for 7 years and they are terrible. Plus as they pay in Euros, you tend to lose out on exchange rate and bank fees.

I overhead a supervisor in sainsburys saying that they were being mystery shopped today.

I wondered why the checkout lady was being so friendly...;)

Still managed to overcharge me though. Hmph.
:rotfl: That's why yesterday two staff were helping me find an item and one even pushed my trolley!

The flights are a total joke and I refuse to do them - the previous company was paying over £100 per flight, all out of pocket expenses (transport at 25p per mile, car parking hotel, meals) and since they outsourced to BAI, they try to cut costs by refusing to pay a fee and cutting most of the expenses and claiming it is a perk of a job!

I did them for over 3 years so its no perk for me to lose all of the above. Plus if you spend £600 on a premium economy ticket, you wont get that all back due to banking/transfer issues, so you lose even more.
