It's fine to enter your bank account number and sort code on application forms. All the companies I have worked for are genuine and I've never had any problems. Here I go again on my own....0

You write them in your accounts, but they cancel each other out. If you're doing single entry bookkeeping:
You would have a spend of £4.50 in your credit column.
But on another line, you'd have a £4.50 debit from MS Company when you get reimbursed.
Thank you very much - that's very helpful so I'm going to ask something on a different subject now. I have just registered with BAI but not done any work for them yet. I see they pay in euros and, although they say they pay half the banking charges associated with this, this must take away quite a bit of your profit. How do other people manage this?0 -
I can't answer that one, as I've never worked for them! Here I go again on my own....0

I haven't been paid in Euros yet but if I do in the future and the bank takes out charges then when I fill in my records for the inland revenue I will state the money I have made in profit only.
So if it actually converts into £10 say, and the bank takes £2 as charges, I will declare that I have earned £8 for this assignment.**********************************************************************

I've never noticed my BAI fees being eroded by bank charges, and in fact they are one of the better payers! I normally seem to recieve in my bank account the approximate amount I am expecting. If you can't provide an IBAN or SWIFT number, of course, the bank charges may be more, but I think most British banks now provide them as standard. My impression is that these charges have reduced significantly over the past few years (as a few years ago I couldn't get hold of these numbers so easily) but I could be wrong....Ex board guide. Thank you very much for all the information about BAI and euros. I will resubmit my details with an IBAN. Not that I have done any work for them yet...0

Is it just me or is the new Job Search system on one of the companies completely rubbish?
I tick the areas I am interested in (and these seem to change every time I look on, so I assume they only list the ones with jobs there) and then nothing comes up at all in the client list. Is it just me? I haven't been able to find a single job since it changed. Perhaps I am not doing it right or something??0 -
Yes you are doing it right (with the possible exception of below)
Yes you are correct that the new system is complete rubbish, which doesn't work at all well for those of us in urban areas. I do a wide mix of shopping, but one favoured strategy is to log on to see where I can have coffee on my way in to work (I cross the whole of London). No chance of THAT, any more! - and they are always short of coffee shoppers.... (Before you all rush to sign up, you do have to be specially approved for this task)
Just to check, though - when you go through the 'select clients' bit of this CATWOT* process, you have got all possible clients ticked, haven't you?
*CATWOT - complete and total waste of time. New acronym which I am rather fond of.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

And need a "SPECIAL" Thermomiter, Set of Scales and Stopwatch from the MS company
Why cant they just pay us to get them ourselves??? lol:money:We’ve had to remove your signature because your opinion differs from ours. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why you can not have your own opinion on here and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Suggestion..I think you probably ought to take the MS company name out, just for safety (or am I being paranoid?)
Just to say that while we are discussing this, I can see the point of them supplying the equipment (and my husband was told the equipment actually comes direct from the coffee people!) BUT could the scales be any worse designed? We are supposed to carry them around in our bag, but there is nothing to stop the 'on' switch being turned on accidentally. Result - flat batteries just when you are about to weigh your coffee!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
