Just in case any of you do the pizza assignments that have been discussed on this board before, please be aware that today I recieved an email to say the pizza company is refusing to pay the company I was taken on by, therefore I am personally out of pocket. Not happy and not loving mystery shopping anymore. :sad:0

That is really shocking news.
Is there anyway to claim the money back that you have lost, such as the small claims court? Maybe report them to Trading Standards too, so other people don't get ripped off.0 -

If it is the MS company and the pizza place I am thinking of, I noticed on my last assignment (1st one this month) that there were changes to the brief. Could it be that the brief was not adhered to. If you wish to discuss names/places feel free to pm me.Praying at the church of MSE should be compulsory!
There are three types of people in the world, those who can add up and those who can't.0 -
The mystery shopping market is falling flat. My company decided to ditch it from april last year and it seems that most companies are slashing costs along the lines, with the most obvious being cuts in expenses and fees. For example, used to get paid £68 for a flight plus all expenses, including lunch and travel into town, mileage and parking. Now, the field company this was outsourced to do not offer a fee, and expenses do not cover travel or food at final destination, or the cost of a hotel overnight. Pubs went from £15, to £15 with reduced expenses and no holiday pay to just £10 from now on.
The bottom is dropping out it as companies are continually tendering lower offers to win clients and then paying interviewers less.0 -

Can you PM me the name of the company and pizza client. A company went bust recently, but have not informed their evaluators as of yet.0 -

Negotiations are going on to try to ensure that everyone is paid for the pizza assignments. There are two companies involved. I know that one company is taking this very seriously & the company directors/allocators are devastated by this turn of events, they will do their very best to make sure no one is out of pocket.
I know this may be of small comfort to anybody who is owed money for completed jobs, but the potential loss to each individual is relatively small. Spare a thought for the directors of the mystery shopping company who took on this client in good faith & are now having to explain non payment of fees to unhappy shoppers. If you not happy & not loving mystery shopping anymore, imagine how they must be feeling. I am not talking about a huge mystery shopping company here, I am talking about a couple of people who have started a new business. Please support them in whatever way you can.
Thank you.0 -

Chas I sympathise with [strike]you and your partners[/strike] the company involved;) As a business owner myself there is nothing that put you under quicker than an bad payer so I will offer tea and sympathy. On the other hand please remember yourself that this a debt free wannabee board where some people are working in mystery shopping as a last resort to get some money to throw at debts - I therefore think its important to warn people not to do this job which does involve paying out money before you get it back- to you the money may seem relatively small but for some its a lot. Good luck to [strike]you all[/strike] the company involved and I hope for everyones sake it gets resolved quickly0 -
Nelski - I have absolutely no connection to this company.0

Then you are being very kind to this company and respect for that.

Sorry Chas but I have to reiterate the above - lots of people on this board can little afford to lose any money sad for the company involved or not - please understand that0
