the reason I ask is that after three days training with Ipsos MORI, the street corner interviewing work that I was promised on a "per hour" basis suddenly changed into door knocking and being paid a set rate only for completing 10 questionnaires. A full weekend later provided only 5 completed surveys meaning that I had not completed the quota and I therefore wouldn't receive a penny. I declined the opportunity to work another 2 days to (hopefully) get remaining 5 surveys and thus claim the £96 fee. 4 days however meant that the equivalent per hour rate would drop to £3 (compared to the £8.20 ph described on the training days) In the end no wonder I told em where to stick it!
I'm not surprised people didn't want to complete the surveys though... in return for answering nearly 50 minutes worth of boring questions, they were rewarded with the grand total of one plastic biro
We pay per hour/shift. My project is more handing out self completion Diaries than interviewing, but we do check the response rates and spotcheck. Other projects are completed on psions/palmtops.0 -
puddings wrote:I got sick of writing out the TNS freepost address by hand so I printed off a whole load of address labels onto sticky sheets. (All I need to do is write in the job reference number on the third line)
If anybody wants me to send them some Tns address labels, please pm me with your postal address - it would be no problem to pop you some in the post.
Thank you muchly for the labels :T
They were well timed too lol ,i have a receipt to send off today !0 -
I want to know how many of you give the benefit of the doubt when borderline and how many mark down if you're not entirely sure
example...
At a supermarket checkout recently. As I was leaving the cashier did say something but it was said fairly quietly and I as I had turned around to leave at that point, I wasnt even sure whether she was speaking to me or the next customer. It did sound like it could have been a "Bye" (or it might have been a "Hi"!)
On the form it says "Did the operator bid you farewell" Yes or No.
----
After a restaurant visit with a freind, I reported that the fixtures and fittings were clean and tidy (which they were by my standards) however when my friend read the report afterwards, she (clearly having higher standards than me) said that she would have marked them down for that.
So is it innocent until proven guilty or visaversa in mystery shopping land?0 -

I had to do an urgent assignment for GR last month. It involved a spend which was rather more than usual, and from my records I cannot see that it has been paid, although subsequent visits have been paid for.
What would be the best route to query this ?- Via their web site (contact us) link
- An email to whoever sent me the paperwork.

I would phone them rather than email.

So is it innocent until proven guilty or visaversa in mystery shopping land?Well, the cleanliness one is fairly easy: I just go with what I think, not anyone else - after all, I'm the MS. My standards are not too low, not too high (I think :rotfl:), and I wouldn't walk around with a white glove, but I just try and look at what a 'normal' customer would look at.
Regarding the first case, I dunno.Guess it would have to depend on the circumstances and if the MOS has been very polite throughout, chances are it was them saying 'Bye' so I wouldn't mark them down.
