Got two PO MSs tomorrow where you have to spend over £5. Is it ok just to buy stamps that value over £5? The list says stamp books - are loose stamps ok?? Wouldn't really want any of the other things on the list -what have other people bought?0

Chocaholic - it's fine to buy loose stamps, just make sure you do actually spend at least £5.
redballoon - I've always used an HSBC switch card & have never had any problems, but there was talk on another forum a few weeks ago about HSBC being deleted from the list. It's probably best to email the company direct via their website & ask them.
The brief said they could tell which card you had used from the last four digits & that always surprised me because I thought it was the first 4 digits that determined the bank/card provider. The last 4 digits on my card are the last 4 digits of my bank account number.0 -
Chocaholic - I wasn't sure about the basic account info either and I have a MS to do on Thurs, so I have just mailed them. It definitely no longer says HSBC on the list though. Last time, I ended up using my husbands card.
I have tonnes of stamps from pre Christmas so was delighted to realise on my last shop that I could purchase mobile top up as I have a pay as you go phone.
Hope you get a reply before you have to go in the morning.0 -
That makes sense about HSBC. I thought I had seen them on the list too (though they are not there now). I checked and double checked before I accepted the assignment. When I printed out the questionnaire HSBC wasn't on the list! Rather than look like an idiot I told them I was sick and couldn't do it. Didn't want to say I hadn't checked the list or risk not getting paid. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You can buy the postage labels they stick on parcels too. Handy if you've got things like birthday presents to send, or ebay sales
The best one I did was sending purcashes back to another MS company. I got reimbursed the postage from them for sending the goods back, then reimbursed from the PO MS company for my postage purchaseHere I go again on my own....0 -

I think I must have been caught by the same thing. I was sure when I saw the list originally HSBC was there as thats my normal debit card and so I am sure I wouldn't have agreed unless I could use that one. Like you I didn't want to look an idiot when I rechecked the list and saw to my horror it wasn't there and thought I must have imagined it. Luckily I have a debit card I don't normally use with one of the other accounts they do accept and have been able to get a pin number for that card sent out so hopefully will be OK.
Doh! I'm so glad you have said this as what with missing a pre-shop call window today and that mix-up I was beginning to think I'm not cut out for MS.0 -

Redballoon they add it monthly but on different days I think the main block of jobs is due around 19/01 but other jobs like garages etc get added about a week before hand - someone else might be more exact for you.
Can you let us know if you get paid please? I have several jobs (Building Societies) done in November which should have been paid in December and when I spoke to them this morning they asked me to wait until the end of the week and let them know again if I still hadn't been paid.
These were the first jobs I did for them and I wonder if they are normally this bad at paying? I think blaming the bank holiday is a poor excuse - it's not like they didn't know there was going to be one is it !!0 -
No Still no gone in this morning - when we were meant to be paid 15/12 I think this is poor - especially when some people have been paid. This is my first payment from them but still a biggy as I did the showroom one where you had to do so many for them. I had them check my bank details before christmas and tehy say they have all the information they need there. I will email them again and see what their response is. I am no applying for anymore jobs with them until I get payment.Lightbulb moment 10-06-06

sorry some of you still havent got paid
blownalot yes they are IMO always a bit crap with payments lol ,i am not going to do anymore for this company ,unless jobs from other companies dry up that is lol
Had 2 assignments on New Years day, have 1 today ,1 tomorrow and 2 @ the weekend
but only 1 other for the rest of jan so far0 -
Well, I enjoyed doing my first assignment yesterday. It felt a bit weird pretending to want to open an account with Barclays and chatting to the cashier, but it went OK. I felt a bit sorry for her as she seemed new and wasn't that good at explaining what everything was, and I marked her down on the report I gave. Still, that's what they're paying for and I hope she doesn't get into 'trouble'.
I've got another one next week too, with a different branch.
Now it's just a matter of waiting for the payment to arrive!
