I've done a few of those - they really aren't as bad as the look! Just make sure you're prepared beforehand - if possible give your own mortgage/pay details so that you don't have to remember anything extra. If it's not possible and you have to fake some money details, make sure you work them out properly first - if the numbers don't add up they'll they'll pick up on it (eg they'll know roughly what your monthly payments should be on a mortgage of a particular size).

It's not unusual for people to write things down in mortgage interviews - when I sorted out my mortgage (in the real world, not MSing!) I took in notes of what debts I had and what questions I wanted answering to make sure I got all the information I needed. If you feel you have to, I don't see the problem writing down a few things on a notepad to take in with you as long as they're the normal things someone would ask in that situation.

Hope you enjoy it - I like these as all the staff I've come across so far have been really nice and helpful - will definitely be going to them for my new savings account!

Thanks ever so much. I never thought about using my own details. That would make it easier to remember. Writing things down on a notepad is a good idea too.

I'm just about to go out and do my first mystery shopping assignment asking about a Barclays bank account. Exciting...

I'm now debt-free rather than a wannabe but it's part of my new year resolution to get out of the house more (I work from home) and this gives me a reason to go somewhere (even if the weather is terrible) and get paid for it!

I'm putting the £10 I get from each one I do into a separate account and putting it towards my long semi-working holiday in Italy in the spring.

I've just registered as self employed.

Be warned that even though I said I'd earn less than the amount needed to pay NI she still tried to get me to register to pay by direct debit. I had to query why I would need to before she asked if I wanted an exemption form sent out.

SO dont forget if youre new and registering to ask for an exemption form!!

and she couldnt even blame it on the accent since we're in the same area as the calll centre lol.

good luck mystery shoppping in 2007. I've 3 tomorrow, and another 2 lined up for the weekend,
