chocaholic110 wrote:Help! Am getting very frustrated. trying to upload my receipt photo to GAP but it keeps saying the file is too big. How can I make it smaller? I don't have access to a fax or printer at home so I am struggling with this now!
Please can anyone help - I am about ready to cry I think0 -
I'm sorry I can't help but I know how you feel. Only done one for them and couldn't send my receipt either.
I would think you would need to reduce the photo size on your digital camera programme if you know what I mean. then save it on your pc and try to upload again. I reduced one of mine in size but it was by accident so am a bit clueless really.
Hope you get it sorted soon. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Please don't cry... I am not the most technical of people (I normally scan receipt and then alter the Jpeg settings to low), have you tried editing the photo and then resizing so that it is only half as big? Just a thought. How much too big is the file?
Have PM'd you!0 -
Thanks for the replies and your very kind offer chocolategirl. I have given up and will try to fax the receipts tomorrow. Worst comes to worst will just not work for GAP anymore. I don't know how to alter jpeg settings or anything
Sorry for the amateur dramatics but has been a rubbish day. Someone crashed into my car and I found out I failed my dissertation by just a couple of marks so not being able to do this was just the last straw!!!0 -

Scanning is a complete so and so , isn't it! THere should be a setting somewhere on your scan programme to reduce the resolution. Set it as low as possible and try again - with any luck you'll find the file size will reduce. I've had this problem as well, and this solves it.Ex board guide. Thanks but don't have a scanner, just a digital camera that I borrowed and don't know how to work properly.0 -

Everything always happens at once doesn't it! My 2 year old was sick in the middle of a playcentre last week, and then when I was reversing out of the carpark I bumped my car too..... I understand exactly how you feel. I'm sure loads of people have the same problems with the Gap receipts as they want them uploaded so small.
Hope tomorrow is better for you.:beer:0 -
