Virgin doubled BB speed.

Hi, I called Virgin end of last week as my BB service was getting slower by the day. Helpfull guy told me he could double my BB over the phone as the upgrade was complete in my area. Not sure why it wasn't done anyway, but sure enough, within 10 minutes it was flying and speedtests showed nearly 18. It lasted all of 2 days, now I am back down to 2 or 3 if lucky. Any ideas what is going on here guys?

Thanks for reply. I am not doing much at all, but have a couple of teenagers that could be. Would I have limits on the service then? I didn't know that happened with BB contracts, but I really have no idea.0

I suggest you talk to your teenagers...
Yes, many VM tariffs are traffic managed. Which one are you on?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Too right I will, thanks for the input. I am on standard 10M that has doubled in last few days.0

traffic managed or not ,it really do's not make a difference any more with virgin ,
because their is too many people on the virgin network for it to run at full speed like it used tothere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -

The base tariff these days should give you 30MBps, but still subject to TM.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I did try speed tests last night. I was the only one on and it pulled 13 and an hour later less than 2. Don't really get that given what has already been said. I'm going to talk to Virgin to clarify, and maybe up my contract to a larger BB. From what has been said though, that may not be the answer through VM?0

What time did it slow down. TM works as follows between 5pm and midnight:

Yep, first was at 7.30pm and again about 8.45. I wasn't using it in between.0
