Afternoon all I have lost the plot of the GC and meal plans have gone out the window !!! I started my new job on Fri and have just finished a run of 4 nightshifts (fri-mon) and am back again tonight, I have lost track of time and days and am just grabbing the odd couple of hours sleep when i can. I know i have shopped but couldnt tell you what i have bought :rotfl:but i don't think i have gone over budget, i dont work well on less than 8 hrs sleep a night so just hope my body clock catches on to the fact that nights are waking time soon as it feels un-natural to sleep during the day. Think we get paid next week (possibly Mon) so will start posting in the Dec thread then.0

I decided to buy my cat's food online and so that was £40 but it should last two months so I went into my Mr T grocery order for next week and deleted the cat food so now I only spent £70 instead of £80.:A
I was thinking about paying for my groceries on a 0% credit card and putting the money I would have spent in an ISA to save money too. I think that is how it works anyway.:o:p0 -
Hi all
Spent £2.60 on hot chocolate yesterday - it was large and also from the station cafe hence the price.
Just gone over but my Dec starts at the weekend (Sunday) so should be ok till then, and not need to buy anything.0 -

Sounds like things are tough at the moment but I admire your resolve at keeping going and staying on top of things. You must be a strong person.

Hello everyone! Meant to come on yesterday to say I had a small spend of 59p on naan breads (OH bought them to have with our chicken fricassee - even though we already had rice and greens with it lol).
Today, another small spend of £2.60 on value laundry liquid and lady products. Never bought the value laundry stuff before (I'm a surf small & mighty girl normally) so we'll see how it is. OH does most of the laundry so he might refuse to use it...Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Well, hello everyone. I finally made it to GC.
Having looked around the MSE web ive only recenty stumbled into OS and its great, i love it.
Ive spent this month learning how much we really spend on our groceries and reading all your top tips, recipes and suppotive posts and now it's time to join in.
Firstly, I should say the Twinks hobnob recipe is fab, our favourite so far and recommended.
So we have spent £467 this month and I would ideally like to reduce this to £400 but this may take a good few months organising DH, DD1 and DD2 into menu planning etc, especially over Xmas, but small steps ......we will get there.
Good luck everyone moving into December GC.0 -
Thought I'd better report in before i go to bed. I have allowed myself £300 for this month (15th Nov - 15th Dec).
This is for myself DH, DD and 2 cats.
DH works away all week, DD is at uni and comes back on Thursday nights for work on Friday. I do provide my daughters meals/food to take back to uni with her and my DH takes sandwiches for Monday but fends for himself until Friday. I cook a meal for my mother twice a week too.
My freezer is full and i have managed not to spend any money on food since Saturday :j
I'm hoping that i can manage without going to any shops and spending now until Friday.
I've forgotten how to update my signature but I have £180.99 left from my £300.August Grocery Challenge (15th)0
