  • :rotfl: I've just spent half an hour trawling through the last few pages trying to find my last post, thinking 'I'm sure I posted something yesterday!'. Well I just found my post in last months forum. I must remember to delete the link from my favourites!

Only stopped by to report that I've lost track of my spending again, I reckon I'm at about £110 of £100 (shocking spends for 1 person!), though pretty well stocked up, I will need to pick up lunch and breakfast foods for next week (estimating £10 at Lid1).

How do you guys make sure you track your spending? I seem to drop my receipts in the bottom of my bag, and then lose them somewhere, and it's making it near impossible to keep track!
I use an app for my phone called EEBA. The free version is enough for me and I track the GC on that along with a few other "pots" of my budget. It has transformed keeping a track. Hope its Ok to mention a specific app?

Great bargains, I also was lucky with whoopsies yesterday, not quite as good as yours but still under half price, I spent 9.00 and got over 20.00s worth of meat, beef, pork chops, steak and chicken. portioned up enough for around 16 meals.

Today at market I got two huge caulis for 1.00, two pineapple 1.00
13 bananna 1.00, one monster watermelon 1.00 and 2 big swede
1.00, so enough fruit and veg for 2 weeks for a fiver. or half for my DD if shes not already been shopping.

Then I went to the tabletop sale in the local church and got an almost new automatic pressure cooker for 5.00, a lovely Timberland fleece jacket 1.00 a waterproof kagool 1.00 , a nice pair of fleece trousers 50p and 4 paperbacks 1.00, 8.50 from different budget.

Sorry for the long post, I dont normally but I am so very pleased
I had to tell someome and DD is at work.

well done! great fun to have a haul!

£12.91 spent in A!di and £6.36 of that was on milk alone! Not a big shop at all this week but will want a few items tomorrow, mainly fruit & veg as apart from 2 apples, bananas, carrots and potatoes - the fridge and fruit bowl are empty. Trying hard to use food from freezer and doing ok hence the cheap shop this week. Still have loads in. One more main shop and a couple of top ups will see us done this month so hoping to come under budget.

Our supermarkets must be super efficient at ordering just the right stock as we rarely see any whoopsied items here. Maybe the odd
20p off is about the best you can hope to find.

Hope everyone is ok and no one is flooded. What a nightmare that must be.
    MARCH £62.38/250
  • Well managed my weekly shop after work to save going tomorrow - £36.63! Bit more than expected but still under budget and going to do my best to not buy anything till December now!

    Hi everyone,

Went to C00p before the afternoon school run to get some veg. They had packs of sugar snap peas and mini corn reduced to 75p from £1.50 so I got 4 packs as 7 of us for dinner tonight. Only 3 were put through at the reduced price. Plus picked up two packs of rtc pork belly rashers, again, both went through at full price as some numpty who works there just stuck the reduced sticker in a random place rather than over the original barcode. So  as overcharged by about £4 odd. We are away this weekend so won't be able to pop back

Was going to leave DNephew the money for a takeaway tomorrow night when we are away, but instead bought him a nice pizza from C00p as more :money:. Plus I've spent a small fortune on him this week with coffee/cake/lunches out plus a trip to London today. He is off home on Sunday (and back to reality :p)

Thanks Valerie, I have downloaded that now, and will try it out. I'm rather new to the whole tablet scene, and forget there are apps for everything! It will tide me over between updating the spreadsheet (must keep a little in touch with the stone age ways! :p)
  • Well my Nov is over, declaring final spend of £314.49 :) Probably wouldnt have been so bad if I hadnt bought snacks before work so much, will HAVE to do better next month!

We have done our last shop of the month and it has taken us over by pence! I don't know if I feel pleased to be so close (because like an idiot I had not worked out it was a five week month when I set our budget :o) or miffed that we came sooooo close

Have done our meal plan for this week and I have enough in for all meals, lunches and a baking session. There is loads of milk and bread in the freezer and lots of fresh stuff so I will not need anything else before pay day. However, dare not declare yet just in case!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend

  • Final update for November GC £126/100 - hmm over by £26 for November.

December shouldn't be too bad as I have savings stamps to cash in and points also to use up and also plenty to use in the freezer for Christmas so maybe I might unbelievable come in close to the target! I'm cetainly finding it hard work to come in at £100 per month. £126 for 4 weeks works out at £31.50 per week instead of £25 per week so I'm going over by £6.50 per week which is probably treats and little stock ups.

Hello - it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm ashamed to say I went over. :o

    Going through my receipts:

    16 Nov - £2.36 in Mr S
    21 Nov - £2 in corner shop
    22 Nov - £1.45 in Mr S

    Then....on the 18th Nov £24.20 in M+S

Now - defending myself here - that spend was because my sister was visiting and I got food in for the evenings/breakfasts rather than going out. Apart from that I've been good at using leftovers and bring the freezer contents down. I'm still under my usual spend for a month I think, and I go away next week so no spends there.

Having a cheap 'use in what's in' meal this evening - frozen breaded fish fillets with salad and frozen chips. Not particulary exciting but just need a small half cucumber because I have tomatoes, spring onions and everything else in store.

Had egg on toast for brunch today (using the remains of a pack of bread from the freezer, with 2 eggs from my sisters visit for when we had a fry up for brekkie one morning).

Tomorrow I will use a pack of Lamb shanks in redcurrant jelly (got it when Mr W did a third off ready meals) from the freezer, and will serve with mash and green beans. I have 2 small potatoes in cupboard so will buy a few loose ones so no wastage is had. Have cheese and biscuits for supper if I'm still hungry.

Since I'll be away next week I'll start December with very basic meat stocks - 2 packs of sausages, 1 pack bacon and 1 pack of stewing steak. May try Mr T out to stock up since they've sent me a few £3 off £30 vouchers.

So today I need to get half a cucumber, loose potatoes and green beans - NOTHING ELSE! :D
