Did a small spend in Asda the other night and got some bargains. I bought four 2 litre bottles of crisp n dry oil at £2 each-they will last about 6 months! Reduced skimmed milk at 13p for 2 litres-I got 3 of those and other reduced bits n bobs. Got 4 tubs of countrylife at just 5p each!!!!!!!! milk and butter are now frozen. Treated me and dd to a big bag of chips today for £1.80 and Ive some left for supper in a moment! Spending for food so far has worked out at average of £40.52 per week. Amazing! Had to get more petrol for other car which I also had to insure but the spending is very low at prsent. Had a chat with my brother last night about Christmas meat and he knows a good market so he is getting that. We are going to have a big family Christmas instead of being miserable just us four missing their Dad. Should be a cheap one too with us all chipping in! Cooking for 12 somehow! ;+) SIL will pull her weight I do know!
Buying my first Christmas present tomorrow as DD said she wanted me to look for a food processor and a liquidiser so I offered to buy them for Christmas. Thats was easy!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Lost track over the last couple days but we didnt spend anything major.
£1.40 on snacks before work today. Think thats the only spend since the forums went down for maintenance to be honest.0 -
Morning All
I have had a hectic week at work and finishing off some college work and forgot to cancel my veg box which has pushed me over my budget by £11.85:( I only have 5 days of my month left and may, for the first time ever, have actually come in under budget if I hadn't forgotten the box:(
DH is away from Sunday afternoon until late Monday and DS and I are at a family meal tomorrow (seperate budget) so that is a couple of meals sorted. I am making a chicken dinner today with some defrosted chicken breasts and lots of veg from the veg box. I need to use up some leeks in soup and make a cheese bread as I have boxes and boxes of GF flour mix. May make a cake and some buns for DS too.
I am struggling with lunches this month and have resorted to buying jacket pots a couple of times from the works canteen. Only £1.25 a time but this is something I need to cut down next month. I am going to give myself a small budget for work food and drink for next month and put the cash in a seperate purse.
I am going to keep my budget the same (£100/week) for the rest of this year. I have a seperate £50 budget for food for Christmas food and alcohol. I must check my receipts as I have already bought a christmas pud and some ys bits for a buffet. We still need to decide on what turkey crown to get and we will also buy a ham, cheese and a couple of bits for the buffet like crisps and thats it:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
