Quidco total rubbish

  • I am a real fan of cashback. If your buying it online anyway then why not? Remember not to use the cashback as the reason for getting something in case it doesn't pay out, e.g. I did a price comparison for car insurance, and Aviva was the one I decided to go with, good price etc. So I searched Topcashback and they were offering £80 for new policies, so what was already the best deal for me ended up even better, i'd have purchased this product even without the cashback.

I fell into the trap recently of seeing that Quidco/Carphone Warehouse were offering £75 for new iphone 5 contracts so I purchased a new contract. After a day I got a text saying my order had been cancelled? Couldn't understand why as I didn't get a reason, so I logged into Quidco again and saw that the cashback has been upped to £100 for new iphone 5 contract £36 pm and above, so thinking the 1st one was a glitch I bought another deal. Again got a text/email to say this order had been cancelled, and later an email to say.."You didn't meet all the credit criteria for the network you wanted to sign up to, so we can’t connect you."

I have never had this? Its only a direct debit? I'm concerned now that 2 credit checks looks bad in a few days and now I don't want to go direct with Orange (which I was going to do in the first place, as never understood why people go to Carphone Warehouse anyway) just in case they decline me again.

I have a perfect credit rating etc, no problems with debts or anything.

I get the feeling that this cashback offer is dodgy. In that Carphone Warehouse will ring me up to discuss it and then manage to sort it out via the telephone and hey presto, they don't need to pay the cashback because you didn't complete the transaction wholly online.

Very annoyed. Always preferred Topcashback anyway!

compared to TCB they are absolute TOSH. they rarely have deals that beat TCB and usually their rates are lower than TCB.

plus the £5 a year is urking me now, since i rarely use them.

A sure sign of poor customer services, when a company feels the need to employ a rep to monitor forums for complaints. :o

It's often in an attempt to get the problem out of the public eye. Vodafone and Comet are good examples of this.

and another dumb thing they do is they track each item from the same retailer. I did the oasis one today and it's tracked x5 items rather than the whole order as one.

    Rubbish.

Same here, avoid Quidco if you can, they've lost their way.

Couldn't agree more. They have changed a lot of their systems for the worse, and the customer service has gone downhill. I switched to TCB over a year ago, getting approx 1% more cashback through TopUps and not paying £5 per year membership.

TCB also do top-ups and quite often recently have paid me out of their own pocket when a company haven't paid up or responded.

Something that Quidco resolutely refused do when DRM collapsed. TCB paid out and I would have been £40 better off if was with TCB during that time.

I'm guessing that is something to do with the retailer - I've only had that problem with fatface but it didn't occur to me it was quidco.

It's funny - I've had very few issues with quidco but do have issues whenever I use tcb or any of the others.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • After 4 years membership with Quidco, I've switched to TCB. I'm just fed up with transactions not tracking and continually having to raise claims.
